Minor Flood Warning For The Lachlan River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT COTTONS WEIR, CONDOBOLIN, EUABALONG, HILLSTON AND BOOLIGAL
MINOR FLOODING EXPECTED AT JEMALONG FROM MIDDAY THURSDAY
Floodwaters from the upper Lachlan River and its tributaries have caused renewed and prolonged flooding.
The main flood peak along the Lachlan River is now approaching Forbes where the river is expected to peak below the minor level. Downstream, these floodwaters have already caused minor flooding at Cottons Weir and are expected to cause minor flooding at Jemalong from midday Thursday. Floodwaters from the previous event are also causing minor flooding at Condobolin and Euabalong.
At Hillston and Booligal, river levels remain steady above minor flood levels due to an earlier extended flood peak.
A Flood Watch is current for the Lachlan River to Cottons Weir, the Belubula River and Mandagery Creek.
Lachlan River downstream of Wyangala Dam to Jemalong Weir:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Lachlan River at Cottons Weir and is expected at Jemalong.
The Lachlan River at Cottons Weir may peak near 4.30 metres Thursday afternoon, with minor flooding.
The Lachlan River at Jemalong Weir Downstream is expected to exceed the minor flood level (7.20 m) around midday Thursday. The river level is likely to reach around 7.30 metres Friday morning with minor flooding.
Lower Lachlan River downstream of Jemalong Weir to Euabalong:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Lower Lachlan River at Condobolin and Euabalong.
The Lachlan River at Condobolin Bridge may reach around 5.50 metres during Friday, with minor flooding.
The Lachlan River at Euabalong may reach around 6.60 metres during Monday, with minor flooding.
Lower Lachlan River downstream of Euabalong to Booligal Weir:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Lower Lachlan River at Hillston and Booligal.
The Lachlan River at Hillston Weir may reach around 2.60 metres by the end of August, with minor flooding.
The Lachlan River at Booligal Weir may reach around 2.90 metres over the weekend (20-21 August), with minor flooding.
