Minor To Major Flood Warning For The Macquarie River

MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT WARREN
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT WELLINGTON
Moderate rainfall late last week has caused minor to major flooding along the Macquarie River. The main flood has now passed Warren, where major flooding continues.
In response to upstream dam releases, at Wellington Bridge, the Macquarie River is expected to remain steady above minor flood levels through to Tuesday morning. River levels downstream at Dubbo are expected to remain below the minor flood level.

Macquarie River downstream of Burrendong Dam:
Major flooding is occurring along the Macquarie River at Warren.
The Macquarie River at Wellington Bridge is expected to remain steady near 5.20 metres through to Tuesday morning, with minor flooding.

The Macquarie River at Warren town gauge peaked near 9.20 metres around 11:30 am Monday morning. Based on recent manual observations, the river is currently near 9.07 metres and falling slowly, with major flooding.

Flood Safety Advice:
In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.
* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}

Minor Flood Warning For The Lachlan River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT COTTONS WEIR AND LIKELY AT JEMALONG
The main flood peak along the Lachlan River is currently arriving at Forbes where the river level is close to its peak and is expected to remain below the minor flood level (8.80 metres).
Minor flooding is occurring at Cottons Weir and minor flooding is likely at Jemalong from Tuesday.
River levels along the lower Lachlan River at Hillston fell below the minor flood level (2.40 metres) Monday morning.
Minor flooding continues at Booligal.

Lachlan River downstream of Wyangala Dam to Jemalong Weir:
Minor flooding is occurring at Cottons Weir and is likely at Jemalong.
The Lachlan River at Forbes Iron Bridge is currently at 8.33 metres and peaking, below the minor flood level (8.80 metres).

The Lachlan River at Cottons Weir may peak near 4.60 metres during Monday with minor flooding.

The Lachlan River at Jemalong Weir Downstream may reach the minor flood level (7.20 m) Tuesday afternoon. Further rises are possible.

Lower Lachlan River downstream of Euabalong to Booligal Weir:
Minor flooding is occurring at Booligal.
The Lachlan River at Hillston Weir peaked at 2.43 metres around 06:00 pm Thursday 04 August and is currently at 2.39 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.

The Lachlan River at Booligal Weir may reach around 2.90 metres over the weekend 13-14 August.

The Macquarie River at Bathurst has fallen below the minor flood level (3.00 metres).

Macquarie River to Bathurst:
No further flooding is expected in the Macquarie River to Bathurst.

The Macquarie River at Bathurst fell below the minor flood level (3.00 metres) around 04:15 am Saturday.
