FLOODING POSSIBLE IN THE NEW SOUTH WALES SOUTH WEST CATCHMENTS FROM FRIDAY
FLOOD WARNINGS CURRENT FOR SEVERAL NEW SOUTH WALES INLAND CATCHMENTS

A cold front is expected to bring showers and rain to South West New South Wales from Thursday evening into Friday. This rainfall may cause minor and possibly moderate flooding along rivers in the South West catchments from Friday, many of which are experiencing ongoing flooding due to previous rainfall in recent weeks.
Catchments are currently wet or saturated from rainfall in recent weeks.
The weather system may cause renewed flooding for the following catchments listed from Friday. Flood Classes (minor, moderate, major) are only defined for catchments where the Bureau provides a flood warning service.

Catchments likely to be affected include:
Lachlan River to Cotton's Weir
Belubula River
Tumut River
Murrumbidgee River to Wagga Wagga
Upper Murray and Mitta Mitta Rivers
Mandagery Creek

Flood Warnings are current for the following catchments: Namoi, Macquarie, Bogan, Lachlan, Murrumbidgee, Murray, Culgoa, Paroo, Darling, and Macintyre.

This Flood Watch means that people living or working along rivers and streams must monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings and be ready to move to higher ground should flooding develop.
Flood Warnings will be issued if Minor Flood Level is expected to be exceeded at key sites along the main rivers for which the Bureau of Meteorology provides a flood warning service.
Severe Weather Warnings will be issued or updated if very heavy rain is forecast or observed.

Minor To Moderate Flood Warning For The Macquarie River

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT WARREN
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT WELLINGTON
Spills from the Burrendong Dam combined with local rainfall have caused renewed and prolonged flooding along the Macquarie River.
River levels remain steady above the minor flood level along the Macquarie River at Wellington.
Downstream at Warren, river levels remain steady above the moderate flood level.

Macquarie River downstream of Burrendong Dam:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Macquarie River at Wellington. Moderate flooding is occurring at Warren.
The Macquarie River at Wellington Bridge may reach around 5.70 metres Thursday afternoon, with minor flooding.

The Macquarie River at Warren Town peaked at 8.96 metres around 12:30 pm Monday and is currently at 8.94 metres and falling, with moderate flooding.
