Final Flood Warning For The Gwydir River

FLOODING HAS EASED BELOW THE MINOR FLOOD LEVEL AT YARRAMAN
A minor flood peak occurred at Yarraman on Sunday afternoon before falling below the minor flood level on Monday morning. No further flooding is expected along the Gwydir River.

Gwydir River downstream of Copeton Dam:
No further flooding is expected in the Gwydir River downstream of Copeton Dam.
The Gwydir River at Yarraman Bridge peaked at 4.47 metres with minor flooding around 05:00 pm Sunday 14 August, and fell below the minor flood level (4.00 metres) around 9:00 am Monday. No further flooding is expected at Yarraman.

Minor Flood Warning For The Namoi River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BUGILBONE AND POSSIBLE AT WEE WAA (GLENCOE) AND GOANGRA
Moderate rainfall from Friday last week has caused renewed river level rises along the Namoi River and its tributaries, which is likely to cause renewed minor flooding along the Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe).
The main flood peak along the Namoi River from the previous rainfall event is currently arriving at Bugilbone where minor flooding is occurring.
Minor flooding may also develop at Goangra from Wednesday 17 August.

Namoi River:
Minor flooding is occurring at Bugilbone. Renewed minor flooding is likely at Wee Waa (Glencoe). Minor flooding is possible at Goangra.
The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) may exceed the minor flood level (5.30 m) Tuesday afternoon. The river level may reach around 6.20 metres Wednesday afternoon with minor flooding.

The Namoi River at Bugilbone may peak near 5.20 metres Monday evening with minor flooding.

The Namoi River at Goangra may reach the minor flood level (5.50 metres) during Wednesday. Further rises are possible.

RAINFALL HAS EASED, WARNINGS CURRENT FOR SEVERAL INLAND NSW CATCHMENTS

The cold front has cleared out of New South Wales, and renewed flooding is no longer expected along the Upper Macintyre River, the Macquarie River to Bathurst, Molong Creek, or at Orange. Flood Warnings are current for New South Wales inland catchments from the Gwydir River to the Murray River.
The Bureau of Meteorology is continuing to monitor the situation and will issue further catchment-specific warnings if and when required.

Flooding is no longer expected for the following catchments:
Upper Macintyre River
Peel River
Macquarie River to Bathurst
Gwydir River
Orange, Molong and Bell River

Flood Warnings are current for the following catchments: Namoi, Gwydir, Castlereagh, Macquarie, Bell, Bogan, Lachlan, Murrumbidgee, Murray, Culgoa, Narran, Paroo, and Darling Rivers.
