Minor To Moderate Flood Warning For The Macquarie River

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT WARREN
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT NARROMINE AND POSSIBLE AT WELLINGTON.
Along the Macquarie River at Wellington Bridge, river levels fell below the minor flood level on Friday evening in response to a reduction in upstream dam releases. Renewed river level rises are possible to the minor flood level overnight Saturday night, depending on rainfall from Saturday afternoon and evening showers.
Minor flooding is occurring along the Macquarie River at Narromine due to flood waters moving down Talbragar River combining with water from dam releases moving through the Macquarie River. The flood peak from the Talbragar River is expected at Narromine overnight Saturday into Sunday.
Moderate flooding is continuing along the Macquarie River at Warren. Renewed river level rises are possible in the new week.
Macquarie River downstream of Burrendong Dam:
Moderate flooding is likely along the Macquarie River at Warren. Minor flooding occurring at Narromine and possible at Wellington.
The Macquarie River at Wellington Bridge peaked at 5.70 metres early Wednesday morning and is fell below the minor flood level (4.00 metres) Friday evening. River levels are currently at 3.62 metres and steady, with minor flooding.
Renewed river level rises are possible along the Macquarie River at Wellington Bridge. River levels may reach the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday.
The Macquarie River at Narromine may peak near 6.20 metres overnight Saturday into Sunday with minor flooding.
The Macquarie River at Warren Town peaked near 9.20 metres around 11:30 am Monday morning, with major flooding. The river level is currently 8.88 metres and falling slowly, with moderate flooding.
The Macquarie River at Warren Town is likely to remain below the major flood level (9.00 m) during Sunday. Further rises are possible in the new week.
