Minor Flood Warning For The Murray River

MINOR FLOODING EXPECTED AT COROWA FROM MONDAY NIGHT
Spills from the Hume Dam combined with floodwaters from the Kiewa River are expected to cause minor flooding along the Murray River at Corowa from Monday night.
At this stage river levels at Albury are likely to remain below the minor flood level (4.30 metres).
Predictions for locations downstream of Corowa will be provided once the upstream flood peaks are observed.
Murray River downstream of Hume Dam to Tocumwal:
Minor flooding is expected along the Murray River at Corowa.
The Murray River at Corowa is likely to exceed the minor flood level (4.60 m) Monday night. Subject to the spill from the Hume Dam the river level may reach around 5.60 metres Wednesday afternoon, with minor flooding.

In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.
* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT GUNDAGAI AND WAGGA WAGGA
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT WAGGA WAGGA MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT NARRANDERA AND MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT DARLINGTON POINT
Minor flooding is occurring along the Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai where the river peaked at 9.02 metres on Saturday 06 August with major flooding.
The main flood peak along the Murrumbidgee River is now downstream of Eringorrah and approaching Wagga Wagga.
Minor flooding is occurring at Wagga Wagga, with moderate flooding possible from Monday night into Tuesday.
Moderate flooding is possible at Narrandera around Thursday and minor flooding is possible at Darling Point early next week.
Flood operations are being conducted by WaterNSW at Burrinjuck Dam and spillway releases have commenced. The releases may vary subject to inflow rates. The release plan follows consultation with the SES and local communities. WaterNSW are working closely with the Bureau, NSW SES and landholders with releases taken into account into the flood forecasts and warning.
Murrumbidgee River downstream of Burrinjuck to Wagga Wagga:
Minor flooding is occurring at Gundagai and Wagga Wagga. Moderate flooding possible at Wagga Wagga Monday night into Tuesday.
The Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai peaked at 9.02 metres on Saturday 06 August and is currently at 7.12 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai is likely remain above the minor flood level (6.10 metres) until Tuesday.
The Murrumbidgee River at Wagga Wagga may peak near the moderate flood level (9.00 metres) Monday night into Tuesday.
Murrumbidgee River downstream of Wagga Wagga to Narrandera:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera.
The Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera may exceed the minor flood level (6.70 m) Wednesday evening. The river level may exceed the moderate flood level (7.30 m) during Thursday and may reach around 7.60 metres during Friday with moderate flooding.
Murrumbidgee River downstream of Narrandera to Darlington Point:
Minor flooding may occur along the Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point.
The Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point may exceed the minor flood level (5.50 m) early next week. The river may reach 6.60 metres mid August with minor flooding.

Minor Flood Warning For The Murray River Upstream Of Lake Hume

MINOR FLOODING EASING AT BRINGENBRONG AND JINGELLIC
Minor flooding is easing slowly along the Upper Murray River at Bringenbrong and Jingellic. River levels are likely to fall below the minor flood level during late Monday morning.
Snowy Hydro advise that as of 10:00 am Saturday releases from Khancoban are at 113 cumecs (minor flow level 114 cumecs) and that releases are expected to remain steady over the next few days.
In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Monday, no significant rainfall has been observed. No significant rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Monday.
Murray River to Biggara:
River levels along the Murray River to Biggara remain elevated.
Swampy Plains River:
Minor flooding is no longer occurring along the Swampy Plains River.
Snowy Hydro advises that releases from Khancoban pondage are at 113 cumecs (below the minor flood flow 114 cumecs) and steady.

Minor flooding is easing along the Murray River Biggara to Bringenbrong.

The Murray River at Bringenbrong is likely to fall below the minor flood level (3.00 m) late Monday morning.
Murray River Bringenbrong to Lake Hume:
Minor flooding is easing along the Murray River Bringenbrong to Lake Hume.
The Murray River at Jingellic is currently at 4.06 metres and easing slowly, with minor flooding.
The Murray River at Jingellic is likely to fall below the minor flood level (4.00 m) late Monday morning.

Never allow children to play in floodwater,
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-oFF INTO waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.}

Moderate rainfall late last week has caused signficiant river level rises along the upper reaches of Mirrool Creek at Barellan where the river level peaked near 2.6 metres Sunday morning. These flood waters may cause minor flooding at East Mirrool Regulator.

Minor flooding is possible along Mirrool Creek at East Mirrool Regulator.
Mirrool Creek at East Mirrool Regulator may reach the minor flood level (0.90 metres) late Monday into Tuesday.
