Minor Flood Warning For The Murray River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT COROWA
Spills from the Hume Dam combined with floodwaters from the Kiewa River have caused minor flooding along the Murray River at Corowa. The main flood peak is now at Albury, where river levels are steady below the minor flood level (4.30 metres).
Downstream at Corowa, minor flooding is occurring, with a peak likely arriving around Friday morning.
Predictions for locations downstream of Corowa will be provided once upstream flood peaks are observed.
Murray River downstream of Hume Dam to Tocumwal:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Murray River at Corowa.
The Murray River at Corowa may peak near 5.30 metres around Friday morning, with minor flooding.

* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.

Minor To Moderate Flood Warning For The Murrumbidgee River

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT NARRANDERA AND HAY
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT GUNDAGAI AND WAGGA WAGGA
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT DARLINGTON POINT AND CARRATHOOL
Minor flooding is occurring along the Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai where the river peaked on Saturday with major flooding. The main flood peak along the Murrumbidgee River has now passed Wagga Wagga, where the river level peaked on Tuesday morning with minor flooding.
This flood peak is now approaching Narrandera, where moderate flooding is possible from Friday. Minor flooding is possible at Darlington Point this weekend.
Moderate flooding is possible at Hay and minor flooding is possible at Carrathool during from August as these floodwaters extend downstream.
Revised peak predictions will be provided once upstream peaks are observed.
Flood operations are being conducted by WaterNSW at Burrinjuck Dam and spillway releases have commenced. The releases may vary subject to inflow rates. The release plan follows consultation with the SES and local communities. WaterNSW are working closely with the Bureau, NSW SES and landholders with releases taken into account into the flood forecasts and warning.
Moderate rainfall is possible from late Thursday into Friday which may cause renewed river level rises. This situation is being closely monitored and revised predictions will be provided if necessary.
Murrumbidgee River downstream of Burrinjuck to Wagga Wagga:
Minor flooding is occurring at Gundagai and Wagga Wagga.
The Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai peaked at 9.02 metres on Saturday and is currently at 6.92 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai is likely to remain above the minor flood level (6.10 metres) through to Friday.
The Murrumbidgee River at Wagga Wagga peaked at 8.74 metres around 08:00 am Tuesday and is currently at 8.36 metres and falling with minor flooding.
The Murrumbidgee River at Wagga Wagga is likely to remain above the minor flood level (7.30 metres) through to Saturday.
Murrumbidgee River downstream of Wagga Wagga to Narrandera:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera.
The Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera is expected to exceed the minor flood level (6.70 metres) around 07:00 pm Wednesday. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (7.30 metres) during Friday and may reach around 7.60 metres during Saturday, with moderate flooding.
Murrumbidgee River downstream of Narrandera to Darlington Point:
Minor flooding may occur along the Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point.
The Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point may exceed the minor flood level (5.50 metres) during Saturday. The river level may reach near 6.60 metres around 16-18 August, with minor flooding.
Murrumbidgee River downstream of Darlington Point to Balranald Weir:
Moderate flooding is possible along the Murrumbidgee River at Hay. Minor flooding is possible at Carrathool.
The Murrumbidgee River at Carrathool may reach near 7.40 metres around 20-22 August, with minor flooding.
The Murrumbidgee River at Hay Town may reach near 7.80 metres around 23-25 August, with moderate flooding.

MINOR FLOODING EXPECTED AT JEMALONG
Minor flooding is occurring at Nanami, where river levels are likely to peak Wednesday afternoon.
Minor flooding is occurring along the Lachlan River at Cottons Weir, where river levels peaked on Monday afternoon.
The main flood peak is approaching Jemalong Weir, where minor flooding is expected from Wednesday afternoon. Minor flooding is occurring at Booligal where the river level is expected to remain elevated over the weekend.
Renewed river level rises are possible along the Lachlan River over the weekend.
Lachlan River downstream of Wyangala Dam to Jemalong Weir:
Minor flooding is occurring at Nanami and Cottons Weir, and is expected at Jemalong.
The Lachlan River at Nanami is likely to peak near 7.50 metres Wednesday afternoon, with minor flooding.
The Lachlan River at Cottons Weir peaked at 4.39 metres around 06:00 pm Monday and is currently at 4.10 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Lachlan River at Cottons Weir is likely to remain around the minor flood level (3.50 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
The Lachlan River at Jemalong Weir Downstream is expected to peak around the minor flood level (7.20 m) Wednesday afternoon.
