Minor Flood Warning For The Darling River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT MENINDEE, POONCARIE AND BURTUNDY
The main flood peak along the Darling River is currently passing Menindee, where minor flooding is occurring.
The river level at Menindee is likely to remain steady above the minor flood level through to the end of August as WaterNSW plans to maintain current release levels. Subject to inflow conditions, the current release level may be extended further. The release plan follows consultation with the SES and local communities.
Downstream of Menindee, minor flooding is occurring at Pooncarie and Burtundy, where river levels are steady.

Darling River downstream of Wilcannia to Burtundy:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Darling River at Menindee, Pooncarie, and Burtundy.
The Darling River at Menindee town gauge is likely to remain near 9.00 metres through to the end of August, with minor flooding.

The Darling River at Pooncarie is likely to remain near 6.90 metres through to mid September, with minor flooding.

The Darling River at Burtundy is likely to remain near 6.70 metres through to late September, with minor flooding.

* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.

Minor Flood Warning For The Namoi River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT WEE WAA (GLENCOE), BUGILBONE AND EXPECTED AT GOANGRA
Moderate rainfall from last week has caused renewed river level rises along the Namoi River and its tributaries, with a minor flood peak expected along the Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) Wednesday into Thursday.
The main flood peak along the Namoi River from the previous rainfall event is downstream of Bugilbone where minor flooding continues.
Minor flooding is expected at Goangra from Wednesday into Thursday. An extended flood peak is likely.

Namoi River:
Minor flooding is occurring at Bugilbone and Wee Waa (Glencoe) and expected at Goangra.
The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) is likely to peak near 6.20 metres overnight Wednesday into Thursday with minor flooding.

The Namoi River at Bugilbone peaked at 5.23 metres around 01:00 pm Tuesday 16 August and is currently at 5.19 metres with minor flooding and falling slowly.

The Namoi River at Goangra may reach the minor flood level (5.50 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday. The river level may reach around 6.00 metres early next week.

Final Flood Warning For The Gwydir River

FLOODING HAS EASED BELOW THE MINOR FLOOD LEVEL AT YARRAMAN
A minor flood peak occurred at Yarraman on Sunday afternoon before falling below the minor flood level on Monday morning. No further flooding is expected along the Gwydir River.

Gwydir River downstream of Copeton Dam:
No further flooding is expected in the Gwydir River downstream of Copeton Dam.
The Gwydir River at Yarraman Bridge peaked at 4.47 metres with minor flooding around 05:00 pm Sunday 14 August, and fell below the minor flood level (4.00 metres) around 9:00 am Monday. No further flooding is expected at Yarraman.
