Flood Warning For The Diamantina River And Final Flood Warning For The Western River

MINOR FLOODING HAS EASED AT WINTON
Heavy rainfall during last week has caused river level rises across the Diamantina River catchment.
Minor flooding has eased along the Western River at Winton.
Minor to moderate flooding is occurring along the Diamantina River as floodwaters arrive from upstream.
Showers are possible in the upper Diamantina River catchment for the next few days, however these are not expected to result in further significant river level rises.
Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes:
Minor flooding is continuing along the Diamantina River at Elderslie. Further downstream, moderate flooding is continuing at Diamantina Lakes, with the river level currently at 4.19 metres and steady, which is 2.09 metres above the level of the causeway on the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road (2.10 metres).
Western River:
Minor flooding has eased along the Western River.
The Western River at Winton peaked around 1.90 metres during Thursday and is currently at 1.25 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (1.50 m).
The Western River at Winton is expected to remain below the minor flood level (1.50 m).
