Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for Heavy Rainfall, Damaging Winds And Large Hailstones
for parts of Somerset, Western Downs, South Burnett and Toowoomba Council Areas.

Severe thunderstorms about the southeast this afternoon.
HEAVY RAINFALL, DAMAGING WINDS and LARGE HAILSTONES for the following areas:
Somerset, Western Downs, South Burnett and Toowoomba
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:40 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding, damaging winds and large hailstones were detected near Cecil Plains, Tipton, Blackbutt and the area west of Toogoolawah. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast. They are forecast to affect the area southwest of Dalby and the area west of Toowoomba by 3:10 pm and the area south of Dalby, the area southeast of Dalby and Moore by 3:40 pm.

Cancellation for the following areas:
Southern Downs,Lockyer Valley
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts.
