Moderate Flood Warning For The Thomson River And Minor Flood Warning For The Lower Barcoo River And Cooper Creek

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT STONEHENGE AND JUNDAH OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS
MINOR FLOODING CONTINUING ALONG THE LOWER BARCOO RIVER AT RETREAT AND EASING ALONG THE THOMSON RIVER AT CAMOOLA PARK AND LONGREACH
RIVER LEVELS ALONG COOPER CREEK AT WINDORAH MAY REACH THE MINOR FLOOD LEVEL LATER IN THE WEEK
Significant rainfall totals were observed over upper parts of the Thomson and Barcoo River catchments over a week ago which has led to elevated river levels and flooding. Flooding is expected to continue moving downstream through the catchment over the coming weeks.
No significant rainfall is forecast over the next few days.

Thomson River:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Thomson River.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park was last observed at 3.50 metres 9:00 am Monday 17 February and slowly falling, above the minor flood level.
The Thomson River at Camoola Park is expected to remain above the minor flood level (2.00 m) for the next few days.

The Thomson River at Longreach is currently at 4.28 metres and falling slowly, above the minor flood level.
The Thomson River at Longreach is expected to remain above the minor flood level (3.30 m) for the next few days.

There are no current observations available for the Thomson River at Stonehenge, however, it is expected that the river level is below the minor flood level.
The Thomson River at Stonehenge may exceed the minor flood level (2.00 m) from Wednesday. The river level may reach the moderate flood level (3.00 m) from Thursday.

There are no current observations available for the Thomson River at Jundah, however, it is expected that the river level is below the minor flood level.
The Thomson River at Jundah may exceed the minor flood level (2.50 m) from Thursday. The river level may reach the moderate flood level (4.00 m) from Friday. Forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.

Barcoo River downstream of Isisford:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Barcoo River downstream of Isisford.
The Barcoo River at Retreat is currently at 2.87 metres and falling, above the minor flood level.
The Barcoo River at Retreat may remain above the minor flood level (2.14 m) for the next few days.

Cooper Creek:
Minor flooding may occur along the Cooper Creek later in the week.
There are no current observations for the Cooper Creek at Windorah (Main Channel), however, based on upstream gauges it is likely that the river level is currently below the minor flood level.
The Cooper Ck at Windorah (Main Channel) may reach the minor flood level (3.00 m) from Thursday as flows arrive from the Thomson River and combine with flows from the lower Barcoo River. Higher levels are possible, and forecasts will be refined as upstream peaks are observed.

Moderate Flood Warning For The Connors-Isaac Rivers

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT YATTON FROM OVERNIGHT MONDAY INTO TUESDAY
Moderate rainfall totals have been observed over the northeast part of the Fitzroy River Catchment since Friday, this has resulted in river and creek level rises along the Connors and Isaac Rivers. Minor flooding is occurring at Yatton, where moderate flooding is possible from overnight Monday into Tuesday.
Showers are forecast over parts of the catchment for the next few days.
The flood situation is being closely monitored and forecasts and warnings will be updated as required.

Connors and Isaac Rivers:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Connors and Isaac Rivers.
The Isaac River at Yatton is currently at 7.77 metres and rising, above the minor flood level (7.50 m).
The Isaac River at Yatton may reach the moderate flood level (9.50 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. A moderate flood peak is likely Tuesday afternoon.
