Minor Flood Warning For The Mary River

Re-issued to correct Tiaro forecast.
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT GYMPIE, AND LIKELY TO DEVELOP AT TIARO FROM SATURDAY EVENING
Moderate to locally heavy rainfall was observed within the Mary River catchment during Thursday and Friday. This has caused creek and river level rises in parts of the catchment.
Minor flooding is occurring Saturday morning at Gympie, and is likely to extend downstream to Tiaro from Saturday evening.
Further showers are forecast for the remainder of Saturday.
Mary River to Gympie:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Mary River to Gympie.
The Mary River at Moy Pocket peaked at 9.32 metres around 01:30 pm Friday 25 April, below the minor flood level (11.65 metres). The river level is currently at 3.40 metres and falling.
The Mary River at Moy Pocket is expected to remain below the minor flood level (11.65 m).
No observations are available for the Mary River at Dagun Pocket. The river level is expected to have peaked above the minor flood level (7.00 metres) early Saturday morning, and be currently below the minor flood level (7.00 m) and falling.
The Mary River at Dagun Pocket is likely to remain below the minor flood level during Saturday and continue easing.
The Mary River at Gympie is currently at 6.81 metres and steady, above the minor flood level (6.00 m).
The Mary River at Gympie may reach around 7.80 metres Saturday afternoon, as upstream floodwater arrives.
Mary River downstream of Gympie:
Minor flooding is likely along the Mary River downstream of Gympie.
The Mary River at Miva is currently at 5.74 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (7.50 m).
A below minor peak may occur at Miva overnight Saturday into Sunday. Higher levels may be possible.
The Mary River at Tiaro is currently at 3.09 metres and rising, below the minor flood level (6.00 m).
The Mary River at Tiaro is likely to exceed the minor flood level (6.00 metres) Saturday evening, with a minor flood peak Sunday morning.
