RIVER LEVELS EASING ACROSS THE FLOOD WATCH AREA DURING TUESDAY

Showery conditions will continue during Tuesday as a low pressure system moves well away to the southeast.
Catchments are relatively wet across the flood watch area and rivers are responsive to rainfall.
In the 24 hours to 11:00 am Tuesday rainfall totals of 5-50 mm have been observed in the flood watch area.
Further rainfall totals of 5-10 mm are forecast for the remainder of Tuesday.
River levels are easing across the flood watch area during Tuesday. Strong and dangerous flows may be a hazard over the next few days.

Flooding is no longer expected in the following catchments:
East Coastal Rivers (north of Bicheno)
Ringarooma River
North Coastal Rivers
Channel Coastal Rivers (South East Cape to Gordon)
Derwent River
East Coastal Rivers (south of Bicheno)
South East

Flood warnings are current for: North Esk River, South Esk River, Meander River, Macquarie River and Jordan River.

Minor Flood Warning For The Jordan River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT MAURICETON
Minor flooding is expected to continue along the Jordan River at Mauriceton during Tuesday.
In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Tuesday, rainfall totals of up to 6 mm have been recorded in the Jordan River catchment. No significant rainfall is forecast for the coming days.

Jordan River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Jordan River.

The Jordan River at Mauriceton is currently at 1.21 metres and steady, with minor flooding.
The Jordan River at Mauriceton is expected to remain above the minor flood level (0.90 m) during Tuesday.

Final Flood Warning For The Coal River
Issued at 02:00 PM EST on Monday 15 August 2022

REISSUED TO CORRECT OBSERVED PEAK
NO FURTHER FLOODING EXPECTED ALONG THE COAL RIVER
Strong river rises occurred along the Coal River during Sunday into Monday. River levels are now steady.
In the 24 hours to 2:00 pm Monday, rainfall totals of 30-60 mm were recorded in the Coal River catchment. Rainfall totals of up to 5 mm are forecast for the remainder of Monday.
Strong and dangerous flows may be a hazard over the next few days.

Coal River:
Coal River at Richmond peaked at 1.80 metres at 6:00 am Monday 15 August 2022.
Elevated river levels may continue for several days.
