Minor Flood Warning For The Kiewa River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT BANDIANA AND EASING AT KIEWA (MAIN STREAM)
Minor flooding is easing along the Kiewa River at Kiewa (Main Stream) and minor flooding is expected to continue at Bandiana during Tuesday and into Wednesday.
In the 24 hours to 1:00 pm Tuesday, rainfall totals up to 4 mm have been recorded in the Kiewa River catchment. No significant rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Tuesday.

Kiewa River to Mongans Bridge:
Flooding is no longer expected along the Kiewa River to Mongans Bridge.
Kiewa River downstream of Mongans Bridge:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Kiewa River downstream of Mongans Bridge.
The Kiewa River at Kiewa (Main Stream) is currently at 3.30 metres and steady with minor flooding.
The Kiewa River at Kiewa (Main Stream) is expected to remain around the minor flood level (3.30 m) during Tuesday afternoon and the river level is expected to fall below the minor flood level late Tuesday afternoon.

The Kiewa River at Bandiana is currently at 2.91 metres and steady, with minor flooding.
The Kiewa River at Bandiana is expected to remain above the minor flood level (2.80 m) during Tuesday into Wednesday.

SES advises that all community members should:
Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater
Never allow children to play in floodwater
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.}

Final Flood Warning For The Murray River Upstream Of Lake Hume

NO FURTHER FLOODING EXPECTED AT BRINGENBRONG AND JINGELLIC
Flooding has now eased along the Upper Murray River at Bringenbrong and Jingellic. River levels are expected to remain below the minor flood level during Tuesday.
Snowy Hydro advise that as of 10:00 am Saturday releases from Khancoban are at 113 cumecs (minor flow level 114 cumecs) and that releases are expected to remain steady over the next few days.
In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Tuesday, rainfall totals up to 5 mm have been observed. No significant rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Tuesday.

Murray River to Biggara:
No further flooding is expected in the Murray River to Biggara.
Swampy Plains River:
Minor flooding is no longer occurring along the Swampy Plains River.
Snowy Hydro advises that releases from Khancoban pondage are at 113 cumecs (below the minor flood flow 114 cumecs) and steady.

Murray River Biggara to Bringenbrong:
No further flooding is expected in the Murray River Biggara to Bringenbrong.
The Murray River at Bringenbrong is currently at 2.89 metres and falling slowly, below the minor flood level.
The Murray River at Bringenbrong is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m) during Tuesday.

Murray River Bringenbrong to Lake Hume:
No further flooding is expected in the Murray River Bringenbrong to Lake Hume.
The Murray River at Jingellic is currently at 3.77 metres and falling slowly, below the minor flood level.
The Murray River at Jingellic is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m) during Tuesday.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT WANGARATTA AND MINOR FLOODING HAS EASED AT DOCKER ROAD BRIDGE
Minor flooding is continuing along the Ovens River at Wangaratta. Minor flooding is no longer occurring along the King River at Docker Rd Bridge.
In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Tuesday, rainfall totals up to 2 mm have been recorded in the Ovens and King catchment. No significant rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Tuesday.

King River:
Minor flooding is easing along the King River at Docker Rd Bridge.
The King River at Docker Rd Bridge is currently at 3.36 metres and steady.
The King River at Docker Rd Bridge will remain below the minor flood level (3.70 m) during Tuesday.

Ovens River downstream of Rocky Point:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Ovens River downstream of Rocky Point.
The Ovens River at Wangaratta is currently at 11.90 metres and steady.
The Ovens River at Wangaratta is likely to remain around the minor flood level (11.90 m) during Tuesday.
