Flood Warning For The Moore And Hill Rivers

FLOODING IS OCCURRING IN THE MOORE AND HILL RIVER CATCHMENTS
Rainfall overnight Monday into Tuesday has resulted in significant river level rises and areas of flooding in the Moore and Hill River catchments.
Showers and thunderstorms over the catchment area are expected to ease into Thursday.
Areas of flooding may adversely affect road conditions and some roads may become impassable.
Hill River:
Significant river level rises were recorded in the Hill River overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday. Flooding along the Hill River is expected to ease overnight Wednesday.
Moore River:
River level rises were recorded in the Moore River during Tuesday and into Wednesday. River levels remain high at Long Pool Bridge and continue to rise downstream at Quinns Ford. River levels at Moora Caravan Park are slowly rising but are not expected to reach 3.00 metres (minor flooding). Flooding is expected to continue along the Moore River overnight Wednesday and into Thursday.
Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
