Initial Minor Flood Warning For The Upper Swan River

MINOR FLOODING LIKELY AT WALYUNGA WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
Rainfall overnight Monday into Tuesday across the Swan and Avon River catchments, has caused river level rises along the tributaries of the upper Swan River. Minor flooding is likely to develop during Wednesday at Walyunga. No significant flooding is expected further downstream along the Swan River.
No significant rainfall or renewed rises are expected over the catchment area in the next few days.

Swan River upstream of Walyunga:
Minor flooding is likely along the Swan River upstream of Walyunga.
The Swan River at Walyunga is currently at 2.72 metres and rising.
The Swan River at Walyunga is likely to reach the minor flood level (3.50 m) Wednesday afternoon.

Swan River downstream of Walyunga:
No flooding is expected downstream of Walyunga.

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
