Minor Flood Warning For The Swan River
Issued at 11:00 AM WST on Friday 19 August 2022

MINOR FLOODING TO CONTINUE AT WALYUNGA INTO THE WEEKEND
Rainfall earlier this week across the Swan and Avon River catchments has caused river level rises and minor flooding along the Swan River to Meadow Street Bridge.
No significant rainfall is expected over the catchment area for the next several days.

Swan River upstream of Walyunga:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Swan River to Walyunga.
The Swan River at Walyunga is currently at 4.53 metres and rising, with minor flooding.
The Swan River at Walyunga is expected to peak near 4.70 metres overnight Friday into Saturday. The river level is expected to remain above the minor flood level (3.50 m) during Saturday and into Sunday and may fall below the minor flood level (3.50 m) Sunday afternoon.

Swan River downstream of Walyunga:
River level rises to the minor flood level are expected on the Swan River at Meadow Street Bridge during Friday which is likely to cause flooding to recreational areas including parks, playgrounds and paths in the area.

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
