Weather Situation
Thunderstorms are developing in a humid, unstable airmass in southern Queensland. Much further north in the Gulf Country heavy to intense rainfall has been observed with slow moving thunderstorms in a very moist environment.
DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY, LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL for the following areas:
Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, North West and Wide Bay and Burnett
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones over the next several hours in parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett district. Locations which may be affected include Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Childers and Biggenden.
VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS are likely to produce heavy, locally intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding over the next several hours in parts of the Gulf Country, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders and North West districts. Locations which may be affected include Croydon, Blackbull Siding and Iffley.
64mm of rainfall has been observed at Prospect in the Gulf Country in the 30 mins to 01:35AEST

Final Flood Warning For The Middle Dawson River

BARALABA EXPECTED TO HAVE PEAKED BELOW MINOR FRIDAY EVENING, NO FURTHER FLOODING EXPECTED
Storms over the last week caused renewed river level rises along the Dawson River between Theodore and Baralaba. River levels at Baralaba are expected to have peaked below the minor flood level during Friday evening, and no further flooding is expected.
Showers and storms are forecast over the weekend, which may cause small renewed river level rises. However at this stage these are expected to remain below minor flood levels.
Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
No further flooding is expected along the Dawson River at Baralaba.
No observations are currently available for the Dawson River at Baralaba (manual gauge). However based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is estimated to have peaked below the minor flood level during Friday evening, and is expected to now be falling.
The Dawson River at Baralaba is expected to continue falling and to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m).

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
