Minor Flood Warning For The Lachlan River

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT COTTONS WEIR AND LIKELY AT FORBES SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING
River levels along the Lachlan River at Nanami fell below the minor flood level (7.40 metres) early Sunday morning.
The main flood peak along the Lachlan River is now approaching Forbes which, combined with floodwaters from the Mandagery Creek, has caused minor flooding at Cottons Weir. Minor flooding is likely at Forbes from Sunday night into Monday morning.
River levels along the Lachlan River at Euabalong have fallen below the minor flood level (6.40 metres).
Renewed river level rises are likely downstream of Cottons Weir. Predictions will be provided once upstream peaks at Forbes and Cottons Weir are observed.
Minor flooding continues along the lower Lachlan River at Hillston and Booligal.
Lachlan River downstream of Wyangala Dam to Jemalong Weir:
Minor flooding is occurring at Cottons Weir and is likely at Forbes Sunday night into Monday morning.
The Lachlan River at Nanami peaked at 7.60 metres around 04:00 am Sunday with minor flooding and is currently at 6.91 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (7.40 metres).
The Lachlan River at Forbes Iron Bridge may exceed the minor flood level (8.80 m) overnight Sunday into Monday and may peak near 9.00 metres Monday morning with minor flooding.
The Lachlan River at Cottons Weir may reach around 5.00 metres Monday afternoon, with minor flooding.
Lower Lachlan River downstream of Jemalong Weir to Euabalong:
River levels at Euabalong have fallen below the minor flood level.
The Lachlan River at Euabalong is currently at 6.14 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.
Lower Lachlan River downstream of Euabalong to Booligal Weir:
Minor flooding is occurring at Hillston and Booligal.
The Lachlan River at Hillston Weir peaked at 2.43 metres around 06:00 pm Thursday 04 August and is currently at 2.41 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Lachlan River at Hillston Weir is likely to remain above the minor flood level (2.40 m) until Monday evening.
The Lachlan River at Booligal Weir may reach around 2.90 metres by next weekend 13-14 Aug.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AND MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT WAGGA WAGGA FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT NARRANDERA FROM TUESDAY
Moderate flooding continue to ease along the Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai where the river peaked at 9.02 metres Saturday afternoon with major flooding.
The main flood peak along the Murrumbidgee River is currently arriving at Eringorrah.
Minor flooding is occurring at Wagga Wagga, with moderate flooding possible from Monday afternoon. Moderate flooding is possible at Narrandera around Tuesday.
Peak predictions downstream of Narrandera will be provided once upstream peaks have been observed.
Flood operations are being conducted by WaterNSW at Burrinjuck Dam and spillway releases have commenced. The releases may vary subject to inflow rates. The release plan follows consultation with the SES and local communities. WaterNSW are working closely with the Bureau, NSW SES and landholders with releases taken into account into the flood forecasts and warning.
Murrumbidgee River downstream of Burrinjuck to Wagga Wagga:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai. Minor flooding is occurring at Wagga Wagga with Moderate flooding possible from Monday afternoon.
The Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai peaked at 9.02 metres around 06:30 pm Saturday 06 August and is currently at 7.74 metres and falling, with moderate flooding.
The Murrumbidgee River at Gundagai is likely to fall below the moderate flood level (7.60 m) Sunday evening and remain above the minor flood level (6.10 metres) until Tuesday evening.
The Murrumbidgee River at Wagga Wagga may peak near the moderate flood level (9.00 metres) Monday afternoon.
Murrumbidgee River downstream of Wagga Wagga to Narrandera:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera.
The Murrumbidgee River at Narrandera may exceed the minor flood level (6.70 m) Monday evening. The river level may exceed the moderate flood level (7.30 m) during Tuesday and may reach around 7.60 metres during Thursday, with moderate flooding.

The Queanbeyan River at Queens Bridge and the Molonglo River at Oaks Estate fell below the minor flood levels.
Queanbeyan River:
No further flooding is expected in the Queanbeyan River.
The Queanbeyan River at Queens Bridge peaked at 5.10 metres around midnight Thursday into Friday, with minor flooding and was around 4.05 metres (below minor) at 6:00 pm on Friday and falling.
Molonglo River:
No further flooding is expected in the Molonglo River.
The Molonglo River at Oaks Estate peaked at 6.84 metres around 04:00 am Friday, with minor flooding. The river level is currently at 4.00 metres (below minor) and falling.
