for parts of Metropolitan, Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains and Hunter Forecast Districts.

Heavy rainfall with slow moving thunderstorms are continuing this evening.
Weather Situation
A trough over southern New South Wales is generating slow moving thunderstorms with heavy rainfall about southern and central parts of the state.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Wollongong, Bowral, Katoomba, Braidwood, Ulladulla, Lithgow, Bulli, Port Kembla and Albion Park.
65 MM WAS RECORDED AT BENDETHERA IN THE 60 MINUTES TO 4:59 PM.
39 mm was recorded at Bowral in the 1 hour to 4:15 pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.
