The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:10 pm, a severe thunderstorm likely to produce large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding was detected. The thunderstorm is moving towards the east. It is forecast to affect the northwest parts of the Wollondilly Shire and the area west of Lake Burragorang by 2:40 pm and Lake Burragorang by 3:10 pm.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Park your car under secure cover and away from trees, powerlines and drains.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
