for parts of Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra, South Coast and Mid North Coast Forecast Districts.

Damaging Surf for NSW
Weather Situation
A low moving off the coast of NSW is bringing strong to gale force southeasterly winds, and elevated waves.
DAMAGING SURF for the following areas:
Mid North Coast, Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra and South Coast
DAMAGING SURF CONDITIONS which may lead to coastal erosion and localised damage to coastal infrastructure are expected between South of Cronulla and Batemans Bay this morning, extending to Wollongong to Seal Rocks from late this morning, with damaging conditions particularly affecting southeast facing beaches.
Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas.
Damaging surf conditions are expected to ease overnight tonight.
Locations which may be affected include Newcastle, Terrigal, Sydney, Wollongong, Batemans Bay and Norah Head.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't walk, ride or drive through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay vigilant and monitor conditions.

The next Coastal Hazard Warning will be issued by 11:00 am AEDT Saturday.
