MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT NARRABRI AND LIKELY AT WEE WAA FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING
Along the Namoi River at Narrabri, major flooding is occurring. As floodwaters move downstream, major flooding is likely at Wee Waa from Wednesday evening.
Minor flooding may develop at Bugilbone during Sunday.
Minor flooding is likely at Goangra from Thursday, driven by local flood waters ahead of the arrival of the main flood peak from upstream.
Namoi River:
Minor to major flooding is occurring along the Namoi River.
The Namoi River at Gunnedah is currently at 7.87 m and falling, with moderate flooding.
The Namoi River at Gunnedah is likely to fall below the moderate flood level (7.60 m) Wednesday evening.
The Namoi River at Boggabri is currently at 8.12 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Namoi River at Boggabri may fall below the minor flood level (7.00 m) early Friday morning.
The Narrabri Creek at Narrabri is currently at 6.88 m and rising, with major flooding.
The Narrabri Creek at Narrabri may peak near 7.10 m Wednesday evening, with major flooding.
The Namoi River at Glencoe Wee Waa is currently at 6.43 m and rising slowly, with moderate flooding.
The Namoi River at Glencoe Wee Waa is likely to exceed the major flood level (6.70 m) Wednesday evening. The river may reach around 7.00 m Thursday afternoon, with major flooding.
The Namoi River at Bugilbone is currently at 4.40 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Namoi River at Bugilbone may reach the minor flood level (4.90 m) during Sunday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
The Namoi River at Goangra is currently at 5.28 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Namoi River at Goangra is likely to reach the minor flood level (5.50 m) Thursday morning, driven by local floodwaters. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
