for parts of Mid North Coast and Northern Tablelands Forecast Districts.

Damaging winds about the northern parts of the Great Dividing Range.
Weather Situation
A strong cold front continues its progression through the state resulting in damaging winds about the ranges tonight.
DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Mid North Coast and Northern Tablelands
Strong to DAMAGING WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts around 90 km/h are likely, easing into the early hours of Thursday morning.
Locations which may be affected include Drake and Ebor.
Severe weather is no longer occurring in the Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra, Central Tablelands and Southern Tablelands districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.

96 km/h wind gust recorded at Kurnell at 9:10 am.
93 km/h wind gust recorded at Kiama at 8:23 am.

93 km/h wind gust recorded at Molineux Point at 5:08pm.
89 km/h wind gust recorded at Newcastle (Nobby's Signal Station) at 2:33 pm.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
* Trees that have been damaged by fire are likely to be more unstable and more likely to fall.
* Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill.
* Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 5:00 am AEST Thursday.
