Minor To Major Flood Warning For The Macquarie River

MAJOR FLOODING LIKELY AT WARREN
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT WELLINGTON
Moderate rainfall late last week has caused minor to moderate flooding along the Macquarie River. The main flood peak has passed Gin Gin Weir and is now approaching Warren, where major flooding likely overnight Sunday into Monday.
Upstream at Narromine, the Macquarie River fell below the minor flood level Sunday afternoon.
In response to upstream dam releases, at Wellington Bridge, the Macquarie River is expected to rise to around 6.00 metres overnight Sunday into Monday, remaining steady above minor flood levels from Monday morning. River levels downstream at Dubbo are expected to remain below minor flood levels.
Macquarie River downstream of Burrendong Dam:
Major flooding is likely along the Macquarie River at Warren.
The Macquarie River at Wellington Bridge is likely to reach near 6.00 metres overnight Sunday into Monday. The river level is expected to remain around 6.00 metres through to Monday evening, with minor flooding.
The Macquarie River at Narromine peaked at 9.00 metres around 01:00 pm Saturday afternoon. The river is below the minor flood level (5.50 metres) near 5.30 metres and falling.
Based on recent manual river level observations, the Macquarie River at Warren is near 8.80 metres and rising slowly.
The Macquarie River at Warren town gauge is likely to peak near the major flood level (9.00 metres) overnight Sunday into Monday.

MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT COTTONS WEIR AND LIKELY AT FORBES SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING
River levels along the Lachlan River at Nanami fell below the minor flood level (7.40 metres) early Sunday morning.
The main flood peak along the Lachlan River is now approaching Forbes which, combined with floodwaters from the Mandagery Creek, has caused minor flooding at Cottons Weir. Minor flooding is likely at Forbes from Sunday night into Monday morning.
River levels along the Lachlan River at Euabalong have fallen below the minor flood level (6.40 metres).
Renewed river level rises are likely downstream of Cottons Weir. Predictions will be provided once upstream peaks at Forbes and Cottons Weir are observed.
Minor flooding continues along the lower Lachlan River at Hillston and Booligal.
Lachlan River downstream of Wyangala Dam to Jemalong Weir:
Minor flooding is occurring at Cottons Weir and is likely at Forbes Sunday night into Monday morning.
The Lachlan River at Nanami peaked at 7.60 metres around 04:00 am Sunday with minor flooding and is currently at 6.91 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (7.40 metres).
The Lachlan River at Forbes Iron Bridge may exceed the minor flood level (8.80 m) overnight Sunday into Monday and may peak near 9.00 metres Monday morning with minor flooding.
The Lachlan River at Cottons Weir may reach around 5.00 metres Monday afternoon, with minor flooding.
Lower Lachlan River downstream of Jemalong Weir to Euabalong:
River levels at Euabalong have fallen below the minor flood level.
The Lachlan River at Euabalong is currently at 6.14 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.
Lower Lachlan River downstream of Euabalong to Booligal Weir:
Minor flooding is occurring at Hillston and Booligal.
The Lachlan River at Hillston Weir peaked at 2.43 metres around 06:00 pm Thursday 04 August and is currently at 2.41 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Lachlan River at Hillston Weir is likely to remain above the minor flood level (2.40 m) until Monday evening.
The Lachlan River at Booligal Weir may reach around 2.90 metres by next weekend 13-14 Aug.

Final Flood Warning For The Belubula River

MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER OCCURRING AT CANOWINDRA
A near moderate flood peak occurred at Canowindra along the Belubula River on Friday 05 August. River levels Canowindra fell below the minor flood level (2.60 metres) on Saturday 06 August.
A few showers are forecast for the rest of Sunday, which is unlikely to cause significant and renewed river level rises. The situation is being closely monitored and revised predictions will be provided if necessary.
Belubula River:
Minor flooding is no longer occurring the Belubula River at Canowindra.
The Belubula River at Canowindra Upstream peaked at 3.26 metres around 03:00 pm Friday 05 August, just below the moderate flood level (3.30 metres). The river level is currently at 1.78 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.
