Detailed Severe Thunderstorm Warning
for Heavy Rainfall And Large Hailstones
for parts of Sydney and Wollondilly/Wingecarribee areas.

Slow moving severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall and possible large hailstones over western suburbs of Sydney.
HEAVY RAINFALL and LARGE HAILSTONES for the following areas:
Sydney and Wollondilly/Wingecarribee
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 3:20 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and possible large hailstones were detected near Horsley Park, Oran Park and Hoxton Park. These thunderstorms are moving slowly towards the north. They are forecast to affect Bringelly by 3:35 pm and Badgerys Creek, Kellyville and Rooty Hill by 3:50 pm.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Park your car under secure cover and away from trees, powerlines and drains.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.

A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Illawarra, Southern Tablelands, Australian Capital Territory and parts of the Metropolitan, Central Tablelands, Central West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes, Lower Western, South Coast and Snowy Mountains districts.
Other warnings may be current.
The next warning is due to be issued by 3:55 pm.
