for Intense Rainfall
for parts of Gosford/Wyong and Sydney areas.

HEAVY TO INTENSE RAINFALL OVER SYDNEY.
INTENSE RAINFALL for the following areas:
Gosford/Wyong and Sydney
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 12:15 pm, a VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORM likely to produce heavy, locally intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding was detected near Hornsby, Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park. This thunderstorm is moving towards the east. It is forecast to affect Sydney City, Sydney Airport, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Gosford, Mona Vale and waters off Bondi Beach by 12:45 pm and waters off Maroubra Beach and waters off Terrigal by 1:15 pm.
77.6MM OF RAINFALL WAS OBSERVED AT HORSLEY PARK IN THE 1 HOUR TO 11:50AM.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
* Unplug computers and appliances.
* Avoid using the phone during the storm.
* Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES (NSW and ACT) on 132 500.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Metropolitan, Central Tablelands and parts of the Hunter, Illawarra, Central West Slopes and Plains, Lower Western and Upper Western districts.
The next warning is due to be issued by 1:15 pm.
