Weather Situation
Surf and swell conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating, and swimming in the following areas.

Hazardous Surf Warning for the following areas:
Macquarie Coast, Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast, Illawarra Coast, Batemans Coast and Eden Coast
NSW Police Force, Marine Area Command advise that:
People should consider staying out of the water and avoid walking near surf-exposed areas.
Rock fishers should avoid coastal rock platforms exposed to the ocean and seek a safe location that is sheltered from the surf.
Boaters planning to cross shallow water and ocean bars should consider changing or delaying their voyage.
Boaters already on the water should carry the appropriate safety equipment and wear a lifejacket.
Boaters should remember to log on with their local Marine Rescue radio base, via VHF Radio or the Marine Rescue APP, and consider their safety management plan.
The next warning will be issued by 5:00 pm EST Thursday.

Warning to Sheep Graziers for the following areas:
Northern Tablelands, Illawarra and Snowy Mountains forecast districts
Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and westerly winds are expected during today and Friday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the Northern Tablelands, Illawarra and Snowy Mountains forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts

Damaging surf conditions for central and southern NSW
Weather Situation
A series of low pressure systems remain in the Tasman Sea. A secondary low that was moving northwards just offshore from the NSW coast has begun to weaken. Strong to gale force south to southwesterly winds around these lows are generating large and powerful south to southeasterly waves today.
DAMAGING SURF for the following areas:
Mid North Coast, Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra and South Coast
DAMAGING SURF CONDITIONS which may lead to coastal erosion and localised damage to coastal infrastructure are likely for coastlines between Seal Rocks and the New South Wales/Victorian border today.
These conditions are expected to begin easing during the day. Initially for southern coastlines later during Thursday morning, and may ease throughout the warning area by late Thursday afternoon.
Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas.
A separate Severe Weather Warning is also current for DAMAGING WINDS. Refer http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/warnings/
Locations which may be affected include Newcastle, Terrigal, Wamberal, The Entrance, Sydney, Wollongong, Batemans Bay and Eden.
A significant wave height of 6.4m was observed at the Eden Waverider Bouy at 1am on the 2nd July.
A significant wave height of 6.6m was observed at the Batemans Bay Waverider Buoy at 3am on the 2nd July.
A significant wave height of 5.2m was observed at the Sydney Waverider Buoy at 9am on the 2nd July.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Stay vigilant and monitor conditions.
* For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
The next Coastal Hazard Warning will be issued by 11:00 am AEST Thursday.

Minor Flood Warning For The Hawkesbury And Nepean Rivers

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT PENRITH AND NORTH RICHMOND FROM EARLY THURSDAY MORNING
A vigorous low pressure system has resulted in moderate to heavy rainfall over the Hawkesbury Nepean River catchment during Tuesday into Wednesday. This has resulted in river level rises along the Hawkesbury and Nepean Rivers.
Minor flooding is possible at Penrith and North Richmond from early Thursday morning.
Minor flooding is no longer occurring at Menangle.
Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Wednesday into Thursday. The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
Upper Nepean River:
Minor flooding is no longer occurring along the Upper Nepean River at Menangle.
The Nepean River at Menangle Bridge peaked at 5.92 m around 03:45 pm Wednesday 2 July, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 5.03 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Nepean River at Menangle Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.20 m).
The Nepean River at Camden Weir peaked below the minor flood level and is currently at 3.54 m and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Nepean River at Camden Weir is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.80 m).
Hawkesbury and Lower Nepean River:
Minor flooding may occur along the Hawkesbury and Lower Nepean River.
The Nepean River at Penrith is currently at 2.19 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Nepean River at Penrith may reach around the minor flood level (3.90 m) early Thursday morning.
The Hawkesbury River at North Richmond WPS is currently at 1.04 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Hawkesbury River at North Richmond WPS may exceed the minor flood level (3.80 m) early Thursday morning. The river may reach around 4.50 m Thursday morning, with minor flooding.

Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT SUSSEX INLET OVERNIGHT WEDNESDAY ON THE HIGH TIDE
MINOR FLOOD PEAK OCCURRING AT ISLAND POINT ROAD
Moderate flooding is possible in the St Georges Basin at Sussex Inlet on the high tide overnight Wednesday into Thursday. The water level expected to remain above the minor flood level through to Friday. A minor flood peak is occurring at Island Point Road, with river levels expected to remain above the minor flood level overnight Wednesday.
Further showers are forecast across the catchment for the remainder of Wednesday and into Thursday, which may result in further rises. The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
St Georges Basin:
Minor flooding is occurring in the St Georges Basin at Island Point Rd. Moderate flooding is possible at Sussex Inlet
The St Georges Basin at Island Point is currently around 1.24 m and peaking, with minor flooding.
The St Georges Basin at Island Point is likely to remain above the minor flood level (1.20 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday.
The Sussex Inlet is currently at 1.02 m and steady, with minor flooding.
Sussex Inlet may reach near the moderate flood level (1.20 m) overnight Wednesday, on the high tide. The water level is likely to remain above the minor flood level (0.90 m) through to Friday evening.

Moderate to heavy rainfall from Tuesday afternoon has caused significant river level rises across the Shoalhaven River and its tributaries. Minor flooding is occurring at Nowra and Terara.
Further rainfall is possible across the catchment for the reminder of Wednesday into Thursday, which may cause further river level rises. This situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as necessary.
Shoalhaven River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Shoalhaven River.
The Shoalhaven River at Nowra is currently at 2.32 m AHD and rising, with minor flooding.
The Shoalhaven River at Nowra is likely to peak around 2.40 m AHD around Wednesday evening with minor flooding.
The Shoalhaven River at Terara is currently at 2.20 m AHD and rising, with minor flood level.
The Shoalhaven River at Terara is likely to peak around the 2.30 m AHD Wednesday evening with minor flooding.
