Minor Flood Warning For The Namoi River

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BUGILBONE FROM THURSDAY AND AT GOANGRA LATER THIS WEEK
The main flood peak along the Namoi River is approaching Bugilbone, where river levels may peak around the minor flood level during Thursday. Further downstream, minor flooding is possible at Goangra later this week.

Namoi River:
Minor flooding may occur along the Namoi River at Bugilbone and Goangra.
The Namoi River at Bugilbone is currently at 3.79 metres and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Namoi River at Bugilbone may peak around the minor flood level (4.90 metres) during Thursday.

The Namoi River at Goangra is currently at 4.75 metres and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Namoi River at Goangra may reach the minor flood level (5.50 m) later in the week, with a minor peak expected early next week.

Flood Safety Advice:
In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.
* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}

Hazardous Surf Warning for New South Wales

Weather Situation
Surf and swell conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating, and swimming in the following areas.

Warnings for Wednesday 04 June

Hazardous Surf Warning for the following areas:
Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast and Illawarra Coast

Warnings for Thursday 05 June

Hazardous Surf Warning for the following areas:
Hunter Coast

NSW Police Force, Marine Area Command advise that:
People should consider staying out of the water and avoid walking near surf-exposed areas.
Rock fishers should avoid coastal rock platforms exposed to the ocean and seek a safe location that is sheltered from the surf.
Boaters planning to cross shallow water and ocean bars should consider changing or delaying their voyage.
Boaters already on the water should carry the appropriate safety equipment and wear a lifejacket.
Boaters should remember to log on with their local Marine Rescue radio base, via VHF Radio or the Marine Rescue APP, and consider their safety management plan.
