Minor Flood Warning For The Darling River

Flood Warning Number: 28
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT TILPA AND MINOR FLOOD PEAK APPROACHING WILCANNIA
Minor flooding is occurring at Tilpa, where the river level is falling. The flood peak is now downstream of Tilpa and approaching Wilcannia where a minor flood peak is expected late in the weekend or early next week 18 - 20 May.
Based on current forecast river flows and WaterNSW operational strategy, flooding is not expected at Menindee Town gauge. The Bureau will continue working closely with WaterNSW and this warning will be updated if the situation changes.
Darling River downstream of Bourke to Tilpa:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Darling River downstream of Bourke to Tilpa.
The Darling River at Tilpa is currently at 9.75 metres and falling, above the minor flood level.
The Darling River at Tilpa is likely to remain above the minor flood level (9.00 m) over the weekend.
Darling River downstream of Tilpa to Wilcannia:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Darling River downstream of Tilpa to Wilcannia.
The Darling River at Wilcannia is currently at 9.28 metres and rising slowly, above the minor flood level (9.00 m).
The Darling River at Wilcannia is likely to peak around 9.40 metres between 18th and 20th May, with minor flooding.
Darling River downstream of Wilcannia to Burtundy:
Flooding not expected at Menindee Town.
The Darling River at Menindee Town is currently at 3.65 metres and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Darling River at Menindee Town is expected to remain below the minor flood level (8.50 m).
