Maitland/Cessnock, Greater Newcastle and Gosford/Wyong
Severe thunderstorms are no longer affecting Sydney Newcastle Wollongong and surrounding areas. This warning is now cancelled.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water.
* Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning
for Heavy Rainfall

for parts of Illawarra and South Coast Forecast Districts.

Heavy rainfall still possible on the south coast north of Burrill Lake.

Weather Situation
A warm, moist, unstable atmosphere and a surface trough is producing thunderstorms across the state today.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Illawarra and South Coast
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Huskisson and Ulladulla.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Mid North Coast, Hunter, Metropolitan, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains, Snowy Mountains and Northern Tablelands districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
A separate Severe Weather Warning is current at the time of issue.
