MINOR FLOODING CONTINUING ALONG THE WATERHOUSE RIVER AT BESWICK BRIDGE
Minor flooding is continuing along the Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge. The river levels are likely to remain above the minor flood level during the remainder of Thursday into Friday.
Further rainfall forecast over the coming days may lead to renewed river rises. The situation is being closely monitored, and the warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End, Central and Western Inland Areas
Waterhouse River:
Minor flooding is continuing along the Waterhouse River.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is currently at 7.95 m and falling, with minor flooding.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is likely to remain above the minor flood level (7.70 m) during the remainder of Thursday into Friday. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rain.
Roper River below Elsey Creek:
River levels are elevated in the Roper River catchment.
Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
