Weather Situation
A number of thunderstorms have formed along and north of a surface trough in the southern parts of the Territory. Stronger storms within this broader area have the potential to generate damaging wind gusts. The area of storms is developing to the east and north.
DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Simpson
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Alice Springs, Arltunga, Santa Teresa, Titjikala and Simpson District east of Finke.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Lasseter district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.

The Northern Territory Emergency Service advises that people should:
* secure loose outside objects
* ensure pets and animals are safe
* avoid remaining in the open when storms threaten
* pull over if it is raining heavily and you cannot see, park with your hazard lights on until the rain clears
* avoid driving into water of unknown depth and current

The next warning is due to be issued by 10:50 pm Wednesday.
