MAJOR FLOODING LIKELY AT BESWICK BRIDGE
Heavy rainfall since Monday afternoon has caused river level rises along the Waterhouse River. River levels are rising at Beswick Bridge with major flooding likely this evening.
Heavy rainfall remains possible for the next few days. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.

Waterhouse River:
Major flooding is likely along the Waterhouse River.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is currently at 8.19 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is likely to exceed the major flood level (8.70 m) Wednesday evening. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive.

Roper River below Elsey Creek:
River levels are elevated throughout the Roper River catchment.

Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

Moderate Flood Warning For The Katherine River

RENEWED MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY AT NITMILUK CENTRE AND AT KATHERINE BRIDGE FROM EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING
Renewed rises are occurring along the Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre and at Katherine Bridge, where moderate flooding is likely from early Wednesday morning.
Widespread heavy falls are unlikely, but isolated heavier falls remain possible for the next few days. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.

Katherine River Gorge Road:
Moderate flooding is likely at Katherine River Gorge Road.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is currently at 5.24 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (5.50 m) early Wednesday morning. The river may peak near 5.80 m Wednesday morning, with moderate flooding.

Katherine Town:
Moderate flooding is likely at Katherine Town.
The Katherine River at Katherine Bridge is currently at 16.39 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Katherine River at Katherine Bridge is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (16.50 m) early Wednesday morning. The river may reach around 16.80 m Wednesday afternoon, with moderate flooding.

Major Flood Warning For The Daly River

SIGNIFICANT AND PROLONGED MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT DALY RIVER POLICE STATION
Significant major flooding is occurring along the Daly River at Daly River Police Station, where the river level is expected to exceed 15.50 m Wednesday morning (above the 1957 flood levels), with further rises likely as upstream flows arrive. An extended peak and significant period of major flooding can be expected through to the weekend and into the next week.
The major flood peak along the Daly River has passed through Theyona station and is now moving towards Beeboom Crossing.
Further rainfall is possible over the next few days, which may exacerbate river levels. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required.
A Moderate Flood Warning is current for the Katherine River, and a Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.

Lower Daly River:
Major flooding is occurring along the Daly River.
No current observations are available along the Daly River Police Station. The river was at 14.97 m and rising slowly around 8:45 pm Monday, with major flooding. This is already above the February 2026 flood levels of 14.26 metres.
The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is expected to exceed 15.50 m Wednesday morning, with major flooding, higher than the 1957 flood levels of 15.19 metres. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
