Weather Situation
A trough extending from a low pressure system near Emerald is generating showers and thunderstorms that are producing heavy to locally intense rainfall inland between Gladstone and Bundaberg.
HEAVY, LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL for the following areas:
Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett
VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS are likely to produce heavy, locally intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Calliope and Miriam Vale.
82 MM OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED AT WESTWOOD RANGE IN THE 1 HOUR TO 1:27 AM.

Emergency services advise people to:
* If you have children make sure they are with you or an adult you trust.
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.

MAJOR FLOODING EXPECTED TO BE OCCURRING AT DUNOLLIE AND BRIAN PASTURES, AND POSSIBLE AT MUNDUBBERA, GAYNDAH, STONELANDS AND WALLA FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT EIDSVOLD BRIDGE FROM OVERNIGHT MONDAY
Heavy rainfall has been recorded over the Burnett River catchment since Friday morning, with further heavy rainfall forecast for the remainder of Monday. This has caused significant river and creek level rises along the Burnett River and tributaries, where moderate to major flooding is possible at multiple locations, including moderate flooding possible at Bundaberg. Further river level rises are possible.
The situation is being monitored closely and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current.

Burnett River to Mundubbera:
Major flooding is possible at Mundubbera, and moderate flooding is possible at Eidsvold Bridge.
No observations are currently available for the Burnett River at Eidsvold Bridge. The river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level and rising.
The Burnett River at Eidsvold Bridge is likely to exceed the minor flood level (6.00 m) Monday afternoon. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (9.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

The Burnett River at Mundubbera is currently at 13.72 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Burnett River at Mundubbera may exceed the major flood level (18.00 m) Monday afternoon. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Auburn River:
River level rises are occurring along the Auburn River. Major flooding is occurring at Brovinia and Dykehead.
Stuart and Boyne Rivers:
Major flooding is occurring along the Stuart River at Proston and the Boyne River at Carters. Major flooding is expected to be occurring at Dunollie.
No observations are currently available for the Boyne River at Dunollie. The river level is estimated to be above the major flood level and rising.
The Boyne River at Dunollie is likely to remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) during Monday and into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Barker and Barambah Creeks:
Major flooding is expected to be occurring at Brian Pastures and is likely to develop at Stonelands.
The Barambah Creek at Stonelands is currently at 10.79 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Barambah Creek at Stonelands is likely to exceed the major flood level (11.50 m) Monday afternoon. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

No observations are currently available for the Barambah Creek at Brian Pastures. The river level is estimated to be above the major flood level and rising.

Burnett River downstream of Mundubbera to Paradise Dam:
Major flooding is possible at Gayndah.
The Burnett River at Gayndah is currently at 6.25 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Burnett River at Gayndah is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (8.00 m) Monday afternoon. The river may exceed the major flood level (15.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Burnett River downstream of Paradise Dam:
Major flooding is possible at Walla. Moderate flooding is possible at Bundaberg.
No observations are currently available for the Burnett River at Walla. The river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level and rising.
The Burnett River at Walla is likely to exceed the minor (6.00 m) and moderate flood levels (8.00 m) Monday afternoon. The river may exceed the major flood level (12.00 m) Monday evening. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

The Burnett River at Bundaberg is currently at 1.32 m and rising with the tide, below the minor flood level.

Moderate to heavy rainfall recorded across the Burrum and Cherwell River catchments since Sunday has resulted in river and creek level rises across the catchment, where minor flooding is estimated to be occurring at Howard. With forecast rainfall for the remainder of Monday, moderate flooding is possible at Pacific Haven from overnight Monday into Tuesday.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system is currently situated near Emerald and will gradually move to the southeast today, crossing the coast in the evening. A trough extends from this low through southeastern parts of the state. Heavy to locally intense rainfall is expected in the vicinity of the low through the southeast and parts of adjacent inland districts during Monday.
HEAVY, LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL and DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is likely over central and southeastern districts for the remainder of Monday. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 60 and 90 mm are likely. 24-hourly rainfall totals between 90 and 120 mm are likely, with isolated totals around 250 mm possible. Locally INTENSE RAINFALL which may lead to DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODING is also possible over inland and coastal parts of the warning area with six-hourly totals of around 160 mm.
DAMAGING WIND GUSTS with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible over parts of the Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett during Monday afternoon and evening.
Conditions are expected to ease below warning thresholds from early Tuesday morning.

Heavy rainfall was observed across the Kolan River and Baffle Creek catchments since late Friday, which has resulted in river and creek level rises. With further rainfall forecast for the remainder of Monday, moderate flooding is possible along the Kolan River and Baffle Creek.
This situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.

Moderate flooding is possible along the Kolan River at Bucca Weir.

Heavy to locally intense rainfall has been observed across the Mary River catchment since Friday evening. Widespread moderate flooding is being observed or forecast at multiple locations throughout the catchment, with major flooding expected at Tiaro from Monday afternoon, and minor flooding likely at Maryborough from late Monday afternoon. Further rainfall is expected for the remainder of Monday and into Tuesday, which is likely to cause further river level rises.
The situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current for large parts of southeast Queensland, including parts of the Mary River catchment.

Mary River to Gympie:
Moderate flooding is possible at Dagun Pocket and likely at Gympie.
No observations are currently available for the Mary River at Dagun Pocket. River levels are expected to be above the minor flood level (7.00 m) and rising.

With forecast rainfall, the Mary River at Miva may reach around 14.80 m Monday evening, with moderate flooding. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Along the Dawson River minor flooding is possible at Taroom, Theodore Weir and Baralaba from Monday morning. Along the Isaac River minor flooding is expected at Yatton from Monday morning with moderate flooding likely from Monday afternoon.
Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Monday. Higher and earlier river level rises are possible, depending on the timing and intensity of rainfall.
