FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT GIRU
The risk of heavy rainfall has eased for the Haughton River catchment as ex-tropical Tropical Cyclone Koji has moved southward toward the central Queensland coast. Flooding is no longer expected along the Haughton River at Giru.
Forecast showers and thunderstorms over the next few days are not expected to significantly affect river and creek levels.
Major Creek:
Creek levels have eased along Major Creek.
Haughton River:
Flooding is no longer expected along the Haughton River.
The Haughton River at Giru is currently at 1.13 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Haughton River at Giru is expected to remain below the minor flood level (1.80 m) for the next few days.

Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.
