MODERATE FLOODING CONTINUING AT YATTON
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT TAROOM FROM FRIDAY EVENING
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BARALABA NEXT FEW DAYS
JAMBIN PEAKED THURSDAY EVENING AND FALLING BELOW MINOR FLOOD LEVEL
Recent moderate to heavy rainfall has caused river and creek level rises and areas of flooding across the Connors and Isaac River catchments where moderate flooding is occurring at Yatton, with further significant rainfall recorded in the 24 hours to 9:00 am Friday. Moderate rainfall has been observed across the Dawson River and Callide Creek catchments since Tuesday evening and has resulted in river and creek level rises.
Showers and possible thunderstorms are forecast for the remainder of Thursday and into Friday which may lead to continued and renewed rises.
The situation is being closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
Dawson River to Theodore:
Minor flooding may occur along the Dawson River to Theodore.
The Dawson River at Taroom is currently at 3.12 metres and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Dawson River at Taroom may reach the minor flood level (4.50 m) Friday evening. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
Dawson River downstream of Theodore:
Minor flooding may occur along the Dawson River downstream of Theodore.
No recent observations are available for the Dawson River at Baralaba, however based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level (4.00 m) and rising.
The Dawson River at Baralaba may reach the minor flood level (4.00 m) from Friday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
Don and Dee Rivers:
Creek levels peaked and are falling below minor flood levels along Callide Creek and its tributaries .
The Callide Creek at Jambin peaked at 2.65 metres Thursday evening. The creek level is currently at 0.95 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (2.65 m).
The Callide Creek at Jambin is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.65 m).
Connors and Isaac Rivers:
Moderate flooding is continuing along the Connors and Isaac Rivers between Pink Lagoon and Yatton, with renewed rises possible.
The Isaac River at Yatton is currently at 14.55 metres and rising, above the moderate flood level (9.50 m).
The Isaac River at Yatton is expected to remain above the moderate flood level (9.50 m) during Friday. The river level is likely to peak near 15.00 metres from Friday afternoon, with renewed rises and higher levels possible.
