for Heavy Rainfall And Damaging Winds
for parts of Western Downs, Toowoomba and South Burnett Council Areas.

Severe thunderstorms about the Darling Downs and Granite Belt this afternoon.
HEAVY RAINFALL and DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Western Downs, South Burnett and Toowoomba
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 3:25 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds were detected near Dalby and the area south of Dalby. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east to northeast. They are forecast to affect the area northeast of Dalby, Bowenville and the area northwest of Oakey by 4:10 pm and Mt Mowbullan, the area southwest of Dalby and Cecil Plains by 4:55 pm.
61MM OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED IN THE 30 MINUTES TO 11:33 AM AT TERRAINE.

Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast districts.

The next warning is due to be issued by 5:05 pm.
