Minor Flood Warning For The Suttor River
Issued at 01:40 PM AEST on Friday 13 March 2026
Flood Warning Number: 6

MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT ST ANNS AROUND SUNDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall over parts of the Belyando and Suttor River catchments earlier in the week caused river level rises in the upper catchment. Minor flooding is possible along the Suttor River at St Anns from around Sunday as upstream flows arrive.

Belyando and Suttor Rivers to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Minor flooding is possible along the Suttor River.
The Suttor River at St Anns is currently at 1.87 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Suttor River at St Anns may exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) Sunday. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

Flood Safety Advice:
Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
Obey road closure signs. Plan ahead so you don't drive on flooded roads.

Minor Flood Warning For The Herbert River

MINOR FLOODING ESTIMATED TO BE OCCURRING AT GLENEAGLE
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT ABERGOWRIE BRIDGE OVERNIGHT FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY
Recent rainfall over the Herbert catchment has resulted in creek and river level rises. The river level at Gleneagle Homestead is likely to remain above the minor flood level over the weekend.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the next few days, which may lead to renewed river level rises and minor flooding at Abergowrie Bridge.

Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Herbert River to Nash's Crossing.
No observations are currently available for the Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead. Based on the nearby automatic gauge, it is estimated that the river level at Gleneagle Homestead is currently above the minor flood level and falling.
The Herbert River at Gleneagle Homestead is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.50 m) over the weekend.

Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is possible along the Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing at Abergowrie Bridge.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is currently at 5.02 m and falling, below the minor flood level (6.00 m).
With forecast rainfall, renewed river level rise and minor flooding is possible along the Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge overnight Friday into Saturday.
