Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
for Large Hailstones, Damaging Winds And Heavy Rainfall
for parts of Redland City, Brisbane City, Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast Council Areas.

Severe thunderstorms in Greater Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Redlands.
LARGE HAILSTONES, DAMAGING WINDS and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Redland City, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 8:15 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near southern waters of Moreton Bay and southern parts of North Stradbroke Island. These thunderstorms are moving towards the north to northeast. They are forecast to affect Highvale, southern Moreton Island and Bribie Island by 8:45 pm and Point Lookout, Lake Samsonvale and waters off North Stradbroke Island by 9:15 pm.
Cancellation for the following areas:
Somerset,Ipswich,Logan
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Southeast Coast district.
The next warning is due to be issued by 9:25 pm.
