for Destructive Winds, Giant Hailstones And Heavy Rainfall
for parts of Western Downs Council Area.

VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS TO THE WEST OF DALBY, TRACKING NORTH TO NORTHEAST.
DESTRUCTIVE WINDS, GIANT HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Western Downs
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 10:25pm, VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS likely to produce damaging, locally destructive winds, large, possibly giant hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected west of Dalby. The thunderstorm is moving towards the north to northeast.
Cancellation for the following areas:
South Burnett,Toowoomba
Emergency services advise people to:
* If you have children make sure they are with you or an adult you trust.
* Pack away, secure or tie down outdoor furniture, toys and trampolines if it s safe to do so.
* Stay away from windows if there is giant hail.
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts.
The next warning is due to be issued by 11:30 pm.

Possible locally destructive winds and giant hail with thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Light winds becoming N/NE 15 to 20 km/h in the early afternoon then becoming light in the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to around 19 with daytime temperatures reaching around 30.
