Weather Situation
A trough extending from a low pressure system near Emerald is generating showers and thunderstorms that are producing heavy to locally intense rainfall inland between Gladstone and north of Bundaberg.
A separate Severe Weather Warning is current for heavy, locally intense rainfall for a broader area of the southeast.

VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS are likely to produce intense rainfall that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Seventeen Seventy, Calliope and Miriam Vale.

148 MM OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED AT ALLIGATOR FLATS IN THE 3 HOURS TO 3:24 PM.
123 MM OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED AT EDEN IN THE 2 HOURS TO 3:11 PM.
112 MM OF RAINFALL WAS RECORDED AT MILTON IN THE 2 HOURS TO 3:08 PM.

Moderate to heavy rainfall over the lower Condamine River, Charleys Creek and Myall Creek has caused significant river and creek level rises. Major flooding is possible along Charleys Creek, moderate flooding is likely along the lower Condamine River, and minor flooding is possible along Myall Creek.
Rainfall is likely to clear the catchment by Monday evening. The situation is being monitored closely, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland.

Minor flooding is possible along Myall Creek.
The Myall Creek at Dalby is currently at 0.65 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Myall Creek at Dalby may peak near the minor flood level (2.00 m) Monday evening.

Condamine River downstream of Oakey Creek to Cotswold:
Moderate flooding is likely along the Lower Condamine River.
The Condamine River at Chinchilla Weir TW is currently at 7.68 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Condamine River at Chinchilla Weir TW is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (8.00 m) late Monday afternoon. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive and the river level is likely to remain above the moderate flood level into Tuesday.

The Condamine River at Condamine is currently at 5.25 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Condamine River at Condamine is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (7.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive and the river level is likely to remain above the moderate flood level during Tuesday.

Charleys Creek:
Major flooding is possible along Charleys Creek.
The Charleys Creek at Chinchilla is currently at 4.91 m and steady, with minor flooding.
Renewed river level rises are likely and the Charleys Creek at Chinchilla is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (5.00 m) Monday evening. The creek may peak near the major flood level (6.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday.

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT MIVA, LIKELY AT GYMPIE, AND POSSIBLE AT DAGUN POCKET
Heavy to locally intense rainfall has been observed across the Mary River catchment since Friday evening. Widespread moderate flooding is being observed or forecast at multiple locations throughout the catchment, with major flooding expected at Tiaro from Monday afternoon, and minor flooding likely at Maryborough from late Monday afternoon. Further rainfall is expected for the remainder of Monday and into Tuesday, which is likely to cause further river level rises.
The situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current for large parts of southeast Queensland, including parts of the Mary River catchment.

Mary River to Gympie:
Moderate flooding is possible at Dagun Pocket and likely at Gympie.
No observations are currently available for the Mary River at Dagun Pocket. River levels are expected to be above the minor flood level (7.00 m) and rising.
The Mary River at Dagun Pocket may peak near the moderate flood level (13.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday.

The Mary River at Gympie is currently at 10.91 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Mary River at Gympie is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (12.00 m) Monday evening. With forecast rainfall, the river may peak near 13.00 m early Tuesday morning, with moderate flooding. Higher levels may be possible if heavy rainfall persists.

Six Mile Creek:
River level rises are occurring along Six Mile Creek.
Mary River downstream of Gympie:
Major flooding is expected at Tiaro and moderate flooding is occurring at Miva. Minor flooding is likely at Maryborough.
The Mary River at Miva is currently at 14.28 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Mary River at Miva may peak near 14.80 m overnight Monday into Tuesday, with moderate flooding. Higher levels may be possible if heavy rainfall persists.

The Mary River at Tiaro is currently at 11.44 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Mary River at Tiaro is expected to exceed the major flood level (12.00 m) Monday afternoon. The river may reach a prolonged major peak near 14.30 m from Tuesday morning and extending over most of Tuesday. Higher levels may be possible if heavy rainfall persists.

The Mary River at Maryborough (Portside Alert) is currently at 3.75 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Mary River at Maryborough (Portside Alert) is likely to exceed the minor flood level (5.00 m) from late Monday afternoon. The river may peak near 7.00 m Tuesday evening, with minor flooding. Further river level rises are possible.

No observations are currently available for the Boyne River at Dunollie. The river level is estimated to be above the major flood level and rising.
The Boyne River at Dunollie is likely to remain above the major flood level (8.00 m) during Monday and into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Barker and Barambah Creeks:
Major flooding is expected to be occurring at Brian Pastures and is likely to develop at Stonelands.
The Barambah Creek at Stonelands is currently at 10.79 m and rising, with moderate flooding.

Moderate to heavy rainfall recorded across the Burrum and Cherwell River catchments since Sunday has resulted in river and creek level rises across the catchment, where minor flooding is estimated to be occurring at Howard. With forecast rainfall for the remainder of Monday, moderate flooding is possible at Pacific Haven from overnight Monday into Tuesday.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current.

Burrum and Cherwell Rivers:
Moderate flooding is possible at Pacific Haven, and minor flooding is estimated to be occurring at Howard.
No observations are currently available for the Burrum River at Howard. The river level is estimated to be above the minor flood level and rising.
The Burrum River at Howard is likely to remain above the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Monday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

The Cherwell River at Pacific Haven is currently at 1.29 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Cherwell River at Pacific Haven is likely to exceed the minor flood level (2.50 m) Monday evening. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (3.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system is currently situated near Emerald and will gradually move to the southeast today, crossing the coast in the evening. A trough extends from this low through southeastern parts of the state. Heavy to locally intense rainfall is expected in the vicinity of the low through the southeast and parts of adjacent inland districts during Monday.
HEAVY, LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL and DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett and Darling Downs and Granite Belt
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is likely over central and southeastern districts for the remainder of Monday. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 60 and 90 mm are likely. 24-hourly rainfall totals between 90 and 120 mm are likely, with isolated totals around 250 mm possible. Locally INTENSE RAINFALL which may lead to DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODING is also possible over inland and coastal parts of the warning area with six-hourly totals of around 160 mm.
DAMAGING WIND GUSTS with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible over parts of the Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett during Monday afternoon and evening.
Conditions are expected to ease below warning thresholds from early Tuesday morning.

Heavy rainfall was observed across the Kolan River and Baffle Creek catchments since late Friday, which has resulted in river and creek level rises. With further rainfall forecast for the remainder of Monday, moderate flooding is possible along the Kolan River and Baffle Creek.
This situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.

Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across parts of the Dawson, Connors and Isaac Rivers, with further heavy rainfall forecast for the remainder of Monday. Rainfall has been particularly heavy across the Funnel Creek catchment and rapid river level rises have been observed.
Along the Dawson River minor flooding is possible at Taroom, Theodore Weir and Baralaba from Monday morning. Along the Isaac River minor flooding is expected at Yatton from Monday morning with moderate flooding likely from Monday afternoon.
Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Monday. Higher and earlier river level rises are possible, depending on the timing and intensity of rainfall.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current for large parts of southeast Queensland, including parts of the Dawson River catchment.

Dawson River to Theodore:
Minor flooding is possible at Taroom and Theodore with further rises possible with forecast rain.
The Dawson River at Taroom is currently at 1.50 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
