for Damaging Winds, Large Hailstones And Heavy Rainfall
for parts of Ipswich, Logan, Scenic Rim and Gold Coast Council Areas.

VERY DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORMS WITH POSSIBLE GIANT HAIL, DESTRUCTIVE WINDS AND INTENSE RAINFALL SOUTH OF IPSWICH.
DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Ipswich, Logan, Scenic Rim and Gold Coast
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 9:55 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near the area between Boonah and Beaudesert and Nerang. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast to southeast. They are forecast to affect Southport, Jimboomba and Bundamba Lagoon by 10:55 pm.
5 CM HAIL REPORTED AT TAMBORINE AT 8:10 PM.
7 CM HAIL REPORTED AT WATTLE CAMP AT 8:00 PM.
7 CM HAIL REPORTED EAST OF KINGAROY AT 7:55 PM.
7 CM HAIL REPORTED AT YARRAMAN AT 5:40 PM.
8 CM HAIL REPORTED AT GOOGA CREEK AT 5:15PM.
4 cm hail reported at Oxenford at 8:50 pm.
3 cm hail reported west of Jimbooba at 7:30 pm.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast districts.
The next warning is due to be issued by 11:05 pm Sunday.
