Slow-moving thunderstorms are continuing within a very moist airmass this evening.

HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, North West, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Gladstone, Clermont, Gregory Springs, Blackwater, Mount Morgan and Calliope.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Central West district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.
104mm was recorded at Torbanlea in the 2 hours to 10:30pm.
55mm was recorded at Julia Creek Airport in the 30 minutes to 7:15pm.
54mm was recorded at Lake Cooroibah in the 30 minutes to 6:41pm.
51mm was recorded at Mt Tabor (Carnarvon National Park) in the 1 hour to 3:06pm.

* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.

* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
