MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT SURAT FROM OVERNIGHT TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY
Moderate rainfall over the past few days has resulted in river rises along the Upper Balonne River and its tributaries. At Surat the river level is expected to be around an initial peak just below the minor flood level. As upstream flows arrive minor flooding is possible at Surat from overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. No further significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.
Balonne River to Surat:
Minor flooding is possible along the Upper Balonne River to Surat.
No observations are currently available for the Balonne River at Surat (manual gauge). However, based on the downstream automatic gauge, the river level is expected to be around an initial peak just below the minor flood level.
Further rises are possible with the arrival of upstream flow and the Balonne River at Surat may exceed the minor flood level (5.00 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
