for Heavy, Locally Intense Rainfall And Damaging Winds

for parts of Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett Forecast Districts.

LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL AND DAMAGING WINDS POSSIBLE IN THE SOUTHEAST TODAY.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system is currently situated east of Biloela and will continue moving eastwards before crossing the coast this evening. A trough extends from this low through the Wide Bay and Burnett. Heavy to locally intense rainfall and damaging winds are possible in the vicinity of the low through southeastern districts until late Monday.
HEAVY, LOCALLY INTENSE RAINFALL and DAMAGING WINDS for the following areas:
Capricornia and Wide Bay and Burnett
HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is likely for the remainder of Monday. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 70 and 110 mm are likely. 24-hourly rainfall totals between 100 and 150 mm are likely, with isolated totals around 280 mm possible. Locally INTENSE RAINFALL which may lead to DANGEROUS AND LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODING is also possible with six-hourly totals of around 200 mm.
DAMAGING WIND GUSTS with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible during Monday afternoon and evening.
Conditions are expected to ease below warning thresholds from late Monday evening.

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT PACIFIC HAVEN AND HOWARD FROM OVERNIGHT MONDAY
Moderate to heavy rainfall recorded across the Burrum and Cherwell River catchments since Sunday has resulted in river and creek level rises across the catchment. With forecast rainfall for the remainder of Monday and into Tuesday, moderate flooding is possible at Pacific Haven and Howard from overnight Monday into Tuesday.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current.

Burrum and Cherwell Rivers:
Moderate flooding is possible at Pacific Haven and Howard.
The Burrum River at Howard is currently at 6.90 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Burrum River at Howard may exceed the moderate flood level (8.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

The Cherwell River at Pacific Haven is currently at 1.89 m and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Cherwell River at Pacific Haven is likely to exceed the minor flood level (2.50 m) Monday evening. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (3.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Isis, Gregory and Elliott Rivers:
River level rises are occurring along the Isis, Gregory and Elliott Rivers.

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT ESSENDEAN BRIDGE AND POSSIBLE AT BUCCA WEIR FROM OVERNIGHT MONDAY
Heavy rainfall was observed across the Kolan, Boyne and Calliope Rivers and Baffle Creek catchments since late Friday, which has resulted in river and creek level rises. Further heavy rainfall has been observed since Monday morning which has resulted renewed rises.
Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Monday into Tuesday.
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Baffle Creek at Essendean Bridge and is possible along the Kolan River at Bucca Weir from overnight Monday.
Elevated river levels are occurring along the Boyne and Calliope Rivers.
This situation is being monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current.

Kolan River:
Moderate flooding is possible along the Kolan River at Bucca Weir.
The Kolan River at Bucca Weir is currently at 17.17 m AHD and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Kolan River at Bucca Weir is likely to exceed the minor flood level (17.50 m AHD) late Monday afternoon. The river may exceed the moderate flood level (18.50 m AHD) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Baffle Creek:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Baffle Creek at Essendean Bridge.
The Baffle Creek at Essendean Bridge is currently at 7.37 m and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Baffle Creek at Essendean Bridge may remain above the moderate flood level (6.20 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.

Boyne River:
Elevated river levels are occurring along the Boyne River and further rises are likely.
Calliope River:

MAJOR FLOODING POSSIBLE ALONG CHARLEYS CREEK AT CHINCHILLA OVERNIGHT MONDAY INTO TUESDAY
MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY ALONG THE LOWER CONDAMINE RIVER AT CHINCHILLA WEIR LATE MONDAY AFTERNOON AND AT CONDAMINE TOWN FROM OVERNIGHT MONDAY INTO TUESDAY
MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE ALONG MYALL CREEK AT DALBY MONDAY EVENING
Moderate to heavy rainfall over the lower Condamine River, Charleys Creek and Myall Creek has caused significant river and creek level rises. Major flooding is possible along Charleys Creek, moderate flooding is likely along the lower Condamine River, and minor flooding is possible along Myall Creek.
Rainfall is likely to clear the catchment by Monday evening. The situation is being monitored closely, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland.

Myall Creek:
Minor flooding is possible along Myall Creek.
The Myall Creek at Dalby is currently at 0.65 m and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Myall Creek at Dalby may peak near the minor flood level (2.00 m) Monday evening.

Condamine River downstream of Oakey Creek to Cotswold:
Moderate flooding is likely along the Lower Condamine River.
The Condamine River at Chinchilla Weir TW is currently at 7.68 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Condamine River at Chinchilla Weir TW is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (8.00 m) late Monday afternoon. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive and the river level is likely to remain above the moderate flood level into Tuesday.

The Condamine River at Condamine is currently at 5.25 m and rising, with minor flooding.
The Condamine River at Condamine is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (7.00 m) overnight Monday into Tuesday. Further rises are likely as upstream flows arrive and the river level is likely to remain above the moderate flood level during Tuesday.

Charleys Creek:
Major flooding is possible along Charleys Creek.
The Charleys Creek at Chinchilla is currently at 4.91 m and steady, with minor flooding.

Heavy to locally intense rainfall has been observed across the Mary River catchment since Friday evening. Widespread moderate flooding is being observed or forecast at multiple locations throughout the catchment, with major flooding expected at Tiaro from Monday afternoon, and minor flooding likely at Maryborough from late Monday afternoon. Further rainfall is expected for the remainder of Monday and into Tuesday, which is likely to cause further river level rises.
The situation is being closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for most of Queensland. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall is current for large parts of southeast Queensland, including parts of the Mary River catchment.
