for Heavy Rainfall, Damaging Winds And Large Hailstones
for parts of South Burnett, Toowoomba and Western Downs Council Areas.

HEAVY RAINFALL, DAMAGING WINDS and LARGE HAILSTONES for the following areas:
Western Downs, South Burnett and Toowoomba
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 1:35 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding, damaging winds and large hailstones were detected near the area west of Toowoomba. These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast. They are forecast to affect Millmerran, the area south of Kingaroy and Tipton by 2:05 pm and the area west of Oakey, the area northwest of Oakey and the area southwest of Kingaroy by 2:35 pm.
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
