RENEWED MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT SELLHEIM OVERNIGHT WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT INKERMAN BRIDGE WEDNESDAY EVENING
Significant rainfall totals have been recorded in the upper Burdekin catchment on the eastern ranges around Paluma and surrounds which have resulted in river level rises and flooding. Currently an initial flood peak is approaching Inkerman Bridge.
High rainfall totals were recorded overnight Tuesday into Wednesday in the upper Burdekin catchment which have resulted in renewed river level rises. A renewed flood peak is expected at Sellheim overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Renewed rises are likely to be observed in the lower Burdekin catchment as floodwaters move downstream.
Further rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast over the next few days. This situation is being closely monitored, and warnings will be updated as necessary.
Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Sellheim is currently at 11.05 metres and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Burdekin River at Sellheim is likely to reach the minor flood level (12.00 m) Wednesday evening. The river level may reach the moderate flood level (14.00 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam is currently at 4.13 metres and steady, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam is expected to remain above the minor flood level (3.00 m) through to Thursday. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall in the coming days.
Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg peaked around 14.91 metres Tuesday evening and is currently at 13.58 metres and steady, above the minor flood level (10.00 m).
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is likely to remain above the minor flood level (10.00 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Burdekin River at Clare peaked around 12.35 metres Wednesday morning and is currently at 12.10 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Clare is likely to remain above the minor flood level (9.00 m) overnight Wednesday and into Thursday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Burdekin River at Inkerman Bridge is currently around a peak at 9.83 metres, just below the moderate flood level (10.00 m).

MODERATE TO MAJOR FLOODING GENERALLY EASING ALONG THE HERBERT RIVER
Significant heavy rainfall has been observed across the Herbert River catchment over the last few days, particularly over the lower reaches of the catchment. Further rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
Major flooding continues along the Herbert River at Halifax. The Herbert River at Ingham Pump Station fell below the major flood level during Wednesday afternoon. Moderate flooding is occurring at Gairloch. Minor flooding is occurring at Gleneagle and Abergowrie Bridge. Small renewed river level rises are possible across the Herbert River catchment with further rainfall, however flooding is expected to generally ease over the next few days.
Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Herbert River to Nash's Crossing.
No latest observations are available for the Herbert River at Gleneagle, however, based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level at Gleneagle is expected to be above the minor flood level (4.50 m) and falling.
The Herbert River at Gleneagle is likely to remain above the minor flood level (4.50 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday.
Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing:
Minor to Major flooding is occurring along the Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is currently at 9.00 metres and falling, above the minor flood level (6.00 m).
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is likely to remain above the minor flood level (6.00 m) overnight Wednesday and into Thursday.
The Herbert River at Ingham Pump Station (Alert gauge) fell below the major flood level (12.00 m) during Wednesday afternoon and is currently at 11.89 metres and falling.
The Herbert River at Ingham Pump Station is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (11.00 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday.
The Herbert River at Gairloch (Alert gauge) is currently at 11.09 metres and falling, above the moderate flood level (10.50 m).

MINOR FLOODING EXPECTED TO BE OCCURRING AT BLACKALL
Rainfall totals of up to 130 mm have been recorded in the Blackall River catchment in the 24 hours to 3:00 pm Wednesday. River level rises and minor flooding have been observed along the Barcoo River at Blackall.
Further showers and thunderstorm are forecast for the next few days. The situation is being monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
Barcoo River to Isisford:
Minor flooding is expected to be occurring along the Barcoo River to Isisford.
No current river level observations are available for the Barcoo River at Blackall, however based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is expected to be around a peak near the minor flood level (2.00 m).
The Barcoo River at Blackall may remain around the minor flood level (2.00 m) until Thursday morning. Further rises are possible.
