Moderate Flood Warning For The Ross River, Minor Flood Warning For The Bohle River And Flood Warning For The Black River And Bluewater Creek

RAINFALL IS FORECAST ACROSS THE ROSS RIVER AND RENEWED RIVER LEVEL RISES AND MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT APLIN WEIR IN TOWNSVILLE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS
The river level along the Ross River at Aplin Weir at Townsville fell below the moderate flood level Tuesday evening. Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Wednesday and during Thursday which may result in renewed river level rises and possibly moderate flooding. The flood situation is being closely monitored and forecasts and warnings will be updated as required.
As advised by Townsville City Council, Ross River Dam will see controlled releases through the spillway. This will contribute to flows downstream in the Ross River.
Along the Bohle River, minor flooding is possible overnight Wednesday into Thursday, with forecast rainfall.
Ross River:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Ross River.
The Ross River at Aplin Weir fell below the moderate flood level (1.60 m) during Tuesday evening and is currently at 1.41 metres and steady.
The Ross River at Aplin Weir is likely to remain above the minor flood level (1.10 m) for the next few days. Further rainfall is forecast over the next few days, with renewed moderate flooding possible if heavy rainfall affects the Ross River catchment.
Bohle River:
Renewed minor flooding may occur along the Bohle River.
The Bohle River at Mt Bohle is currently at 2.06 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (4.00 m).
With forecast rainfall, renewed river level rises are possible and the Bohle River at Mt Bohle may reach the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday.
Black River and Bluewater Creek:
River and creek levels have eased along the Black River and Bluewater Creek. Renewed rises remain possible over the next few days.

RENEWED MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT SELLHEIM OVERNIGHT WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT INKERMAN BRIDGE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
Significant rainfall totals have been recorded in the upper Burdekin catchment on the eastern ranges around Paluma and surrounds which have resulted in river level rises and flooding. Currently an initial flood peak is approaching Inkerman Bridge.
High rainfall totals were recorded overnight in the upper Burdekin catchment which have resulted in renewed river level rises. Renewed rises are likely to be observed in the lower Burdekin catchment as floodwaters move downstream. A renewed flood peak is expected at Sellheim overnight Wednesday into Thursday.
Further rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast over the next few days. This situation is being closely monitored, and warnings will be updated as necessary.
Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding may occur along the Burdekin River to Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Sellheim is currently at 10.10 metres and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Burdekin River at Sellheim is likely to reach the minor flood level (12.00 m) Wednesday afternoon. The river level may reach the moderate flood level (14.00 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam is currently at 4.33 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Burdekin Dam is expected to remain above the minor flood level (3.00 m) through to Thursday. Renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall in the coming days.
Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam:
Moderate flooding is likely along the Burdekin River downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is currently at 14.08 metres and falling, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Dalbeg is likely to remain above the minor flood level (10.00 m) during Wednesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.
The Burdekin River at Clare is currently at 12.30 metres and steady, with minor flooding.
The Burdekin River at Clare is likely to remain above the minor flood level (9.00 m) during Wednesday. Further rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

MODERATE TO MAJOR FLOODING GENERALLY EASING ALONG THE HERBERT RIVER
Significant heavy rainfall has been observed across the Herbert River catchment over the last few days, particularly over the lower reaches of the catchment. Further rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
Major flooding continues along the Herbert River at Ingham Pump Station and Halifax. Moderate flooding is easing at Abergowrie Bridge and Gairloch. Moderate flooding is expected to be easing at Gleneagle. Small renewed river level rises are possible across the Herbert River catchment with further rainfall, however flooding is expected to generally ease over the next few days.
Herbert River to Nash's Crossing:
Moderate flooding is expected to be easing along the Herbert River to Nash's Crossing.
No latest observations are available for the Herbert River at Gleneagle, however, based on the nearby automatic gauge, the river level at Gleneagle is expected to be around the moderate flood level (8.50 m).
The Herbert River at Gleneagle is likely to remain around the moderate flood level (8.50 m) during Wednesday.
Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing:
Moderate to Major flooding is occurring along the Herbert River downstream of Nash's Crossing.
The Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge is currently at 10.45 metres and falling, above the moderate flood level (10.00 m).

Minor Flood Warning For The Haughton River Catchment

RENEWED MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT GIRU
Significant rainfall totals in excess of 900 mm have been recorded across the Haughton River catchment since Monday last week, resulting in flooding along the Haughton River. Rain and showers are forecast to continue over the next few days, renewed minor flooding may occur at Giru overnight Wednesday into Thursday.
The situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required.
Major Creek:
Flooding has eased along the Major Creek. Renewed rises are likely with forecast rainfall.
Haughton River:
Renewed minor flooding is possible along the Haughton River.
The Haughton River at Giru fell below the minor flood level (1.80 m) overnight Tuesday, the river level is currently at 1.38 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Haughton River at Giru may reach the minor flood level (1.80 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday, with forecast rainfall. Further rises are possible.
