Areas of heavy rainfall with slow-moving thunderstorms
Weather Situation
A very moist tropical airmass remains in place across much of the state. Surface troughs around the central west and highlands, extending east to the Wide Bay will combine with this warm and humid environment to produce scattered thunderstorm activity with heavy rainfall.
HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas:
Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Roma, Clermont, Barcaldine, Carnarvon National Park, Mitchell and Taroom.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the North West, Central Coast and Whitsundays, Channel Country and Capricornia districts and the warning for these districts is CANCELLED.
115 mm was recorded at Taroom in the 6 hours to 4:52 pm.
83 mm was recorded at Waddy Brae in the 6 hours to 4:52 pm.
88 mm was recorded at Upper Amby Creek in the 3 hours to 7:00 pm.
67 mm was recorded at Barcaldine Weir in the 2 hours to 7:00 pm.
76 mm was recorded at Mungallala in the 2 hours to 4:52 pm.
50 mm was recorded at Tartrus in the 40 minutes to 3:15 pm.
52 mm was recorded at Mt Ewan in the 30 minutes to 3:00 pm.
51 mm was recorded at Moyallen in 60 minutes to 2:19 pm
61 mm was recorded at East Barrattas in the 35 minutes to 2:05 pm.
58 mm was recorded at Whites Creek in the 30 minutes to 1:30 pm.

Capricornia,Channel Country,Central Coast and Whitsundays,North West
Emergency services advise people to:
* Park your car undercover away from trees.
* Close doors and windows.
* Keep asthma medications close by. Storms and wind can trigger asthma attacks.
* Charge mobile phones and power banks in case the power goes out.
* Put your pets somewhere safe and make sure they can be identified in case they get lost.
* Do not drive now unless you have to because conditions are dangerous.
* Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
* Go inside a strong building now. Stay inside until the storm has passed.
The next warning is due to be issued by 10:25 pm.
